Ah, thanks a lot! How do I make them empty?
They are empty, sorry, I just couldn’t stop myself from clicking them
I’ve unclicked them now
Ah, thanks a lot
Heyyyyyy, folks!
This time, I have to be serious with you.
Since I plan on making grammar guides for most of JLPT grammar (5 to 1), should I make an own thread with all my guides, once I’ve written enough (let’s say like 7 or 8)?
Be honest, if you don’t think I should make one, then choose no, kay?
But I personally think it would be a good idea because that way, I would have everything together in a few consecutive posts, which will definitely not be possible here, and I think it would look a bit more organized, compared to making them some random posts here.
I’m just a small clumsy cat, so I’m purrobably wrong, but I think it would be best to keep your guides in this thread for now. Because essentially they are your personal notes that you are willing to share with others (which is very nyaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaice of you ). But if you put them into a separate guides thread – some people might see is as misleading. Because usually, writing a guide implies that the author knows the subject very well and you are still studying
So, for now I’d recommend keeping them here. However, once you become fluent and achieve N1 – then it would be a good time to copy / move those guides into a separate thread
As for being consecutive – you can achieve it by making each such guide a reply to your previous guide or posting a link to the previous and next guide in the beginning and end of each guide
I’m sorry, I hope I’m not sounding harsh, I just want to help you avoid meowsunderstanding with some people here
No purroblem! I think your totally right, and besides, I’m going to link all my guides anyway in the original post.
I think I should really first get to N1-level, and then post my guides. Maybe I’ll find some issues or something that I could’ve written better when looking at it as someone who is actually good at grammar (which I am currently not ).
The only thing that bothered me is that the posts aren’t consecutive, but I’ll just have to be patient about that I’ll still call it guides, because it guided me through the patterns of a grammatical phenomenon.
To be completely frank, if your goal is getting fluent as quickly as possible, your time would be better spent grinding existing learning materials.
How do I put it, sometimes it’s more effective to learn how to walk well before learning how to run . And getting really solid at even N3 level already goes a long way.
Yeah, I agree. The guide is something I wrote to get a overview of the verb conjugations and the pattern that is behind it, since I tend to memorize things better and faster when there is a pattern. And it did help me a lot! But, I think I should really first learn everything I can before trying to reproduce it, except if it helps me to learn it (like with verb conjugation).
It’s been a long long time since I saw this script. I am surprised that it still works. I have only touched it once since I made it in 2018
I like the script a lot! It gives such a great overview!
I for one am not at all surprised that Kumirei’s code still works.
Welcome back to my study log! I recently found this gif in a post by @anon9242278 and thought “Why not use it in my next log entry?”. If you haven’t read my warnings in earlier posts and wanna complain about me posting weird gifs… well, that’s to bad, because I don’t care
Speaking of warnings: I’d highly advice you to read this warning first before continuing reading, because if you don’t, you might find youself being embarrased after trying to complain about me and the way I write stuff.

I don’t force you to read it, so everything you see and read here is at your own risk!
Now, let’s see, what happened, why did it happen and how?
First of all, I leveled up just yesterday, so just usual business, one level up every Saturday. Regarding grammar, however, it is a COMPLETELY different story!
Recently, I’ve become a bit too lazy about grammar and didn’t learn any new stuff because… well, I don’t know, maybe the almighty god of rickrolling ascended to distract me, but I definitely got distracted. So I forced myself to do 2 lessons on BunPro yesterday, which leaves 3 out of 10 lessons left for N5. I originally wanted to finish N5 pretty quickly, but yeah, sometimes, things just happen that we have no control about.
Then, for the next question, am I satisfied with my progress I’ve made?
The short answer is:
And the more detailed and extensive answer:
Here are also some stats to make the post longer:
Some other things also happened in this thread, but they are not that important, so just ignore them.
Now that I know how to make these cool checkboxes I see in everyone’s log, I will now proceed to make my own. BEHOLD, my ultimate TODOLLIST!
WaniKani | BunPro | KaniWani | Other stuff nobody really cares about |
---|---|---|---|
Level up to level 8 | Finish lesson 8 (N5) | I honestly don’t know what to put here | Master the art of Coelacanth ![]() |
Make screenshot for 0/0 streak challenge and post it | Finish lesson 9 (N5) | I just put it here to make more boxes | |
Finish lesson 10 and N5 (N5) | Get 100 items into the lesson queue |
Alright, and that’s about it for today. Don’t forget to give some positive feedback because negative feedback is directed towards the trash can. You can also leave some suggestions for me to not read, but it makes the thread look more active.
Other than that: NEVER GONNA GIVE YOU UP
(Hope to make a more positive entry next time…)
Let me know if you have any recommendations for my checklist that I could add
This should be a standard greeting
You know what?
I totally agree
Hello, folks!
A lot has happened since my last entry, so this is probably gonna be a bit longer today. So grab some popcorn, perhaps also a tea, and let’s start.
First of all: My table last week was really bad. Not in the way that the goals weren’t enough, but in the way that it wasn’t organized at all. So lemme quickly make a table here that I’ll be using over and over again until I don’t want to anymore:
月 | 火 | 水 | 木 | 金 | 土 | 日 | |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
WaniKani | |||||||
BunPro | |||||||
KaniWani |
Later on, when I’ll also be doing listening and reading practice, I’ll add more rows, too, but for now, it’s only these three.
Then, if you have been following my table updates, you probably already know this, but I’ll announce it here anyways: I have finished all the N5 grammar points on Bunpro
Now, this leaves me with a really important question (no jokes this time, believe me ):
Is it worth learning the vocabulary decks on Bunpro?
I’ve already heard many people saying that the vocab on WaniKani isn’t the most useful, but what about Bunpro? Should I learn the vocabulary decks on Bunpro or not?
Next on: I was actually able to complete all my goals, niceeeeeeee.
Next on: Time to set more goals hahahahahaha
月 | 火 | 水 | 木 | 金 | 土 | 日 | |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
WaniKani | 25 - 30 lessons | 25 - 30 lessons | Do the rest of the kanji lessons | 25 - 30 lessons | 25 - 30 lessons | Level up | 25 - 30 lessons |
BunPro | 1st lesson | 2nd lesson | 3rd lesson | 4th lesson | 5th lesson | 6th lesson | 7th lesson |
KaniWani | Idk bruh | Not putting anything here | 3 SRS is three to much | Perhaps some lessons? | xD | Coelacanth ![]() |
Hi there, @anon9242278 |
So far, so good. I better not get lazy lol, now that I’ve made such a beautiful table
(Also, @Kumirei, my emoter seems to be working now; when I search for the emote, it sometimes doesn’t get displayed in the available options, but when I finish writing the name, the emote appears, so I think you managed to fix it, thanks a lot )
So, now to move on:
Wait, I forgot, what did I want to say, again?
Ah, proably not that important, anyways. I guess I’ll just have to throw some random stats in to make the post longer, instead. So, here are some stats to make the post longer:
As you might have noticed, I manually inputted the reviews for the first 2 weeks. I based these on what I remember, and they aren’t 100% accurate, but I just couldn’t stand this sharp color cutoff lol
Also some stats from Bunpro:
More random announcements:
Also, you should have a look at @doublemc’s Pluto exploration log , there’s really interesting stuff going on there
@logograph when is the new POLL thread finished?
@trunklayer thanks for the pawsitive feedback
@anon9242278 what random gifs or images do you have that I can use the next time someone offends the almighty crabigator and his app again? (you seem to be a pretty good “rescource” of hilarous gifs and images lol)
Alrighty then, see ya some time in the future.
Also, I’ll be enlightening my first items on 23rd January
i randomly got @d and now i’m invested
i use busuu, and generally, it’s pretty good for conversational japanese!
I linked the Pluto exploration log lol
