Japanese in one year?! - Not your usual study log

happeh birthdaty!!!

Happy birthday @NeoArcturus!!! :partying_face: :cake: :birthday: :gift: :sparkles: :tada:

Hope you have a wonderful time celebrating your special day :blush:

誕生日おめでとう! :birthday::tada::gift:

Hi, Ciel!

そうですね~
私もこの問題がありますね

I ended up dropping daily reading, daily grammar, daily kaniwani and writing from my studies just to keep up with my studies last year! (And too cheap and irregular for iTalkie tutor :joy: ) (I count Duolingo as daily reading, but I like it because it strictly uses vocabulary that has already been covered)… I’ve been trying to add in daily Satori Reader plus its vocabulary reviews and intensive listening… But I’ve barely managed a few days each of the last several weeks!

頑張りましょう with our studies! :muscle:t6:

@mitrac @autumnalbees @rachiewru @Amz Thank you all for the nice birthday wishes! :two_hearts: :two_hearts:

I just got my yearly sub! I’m super excited :smiling_face_with_three_hearts: :smile:

Happy birthday! I hope the year brings lots of fun with Japanese learning your way. :grinning: :tada:

Congratulations! :tada:

yayyyyyyyy so happy for you

Happy Birthday, @NeoArcturus!
Nice work, you’re making great progress.

そうですね
I feel less alone haha

Yes you are right I also should prioritize my programming course over japanese :weary:

はい、頑張りましょう :muscle:

@soggyboy @trunklayer @_Ciel @nemurineko Thank you all! :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

I just had my cake, and it was AMAZING! I’m not sure what it’s called, I’d say it’s kinda like a Sachertorte (not sure if that’s the English word of it :sweat_smile:) with a chocolate cream and chocolate sprinkles! I ate way to much, I feel so full :rofl: But I have no regrets! :yum: I also had hot chocolate with that same cream (my mum made way too much from that cream lol) and choco sprinkles!

I’m not sure if I’ll post the translation of the next chapter from the TWC today, because I feel too full :rofl: Perhaps in the evening…

Pro tip: Learn programming using Japanese resources :wink:

Happy birthday, @NeoArcturus!

Happy birthday @NeoArcturus !!! お誕生日おめでとう!! I hope you have a great one and a great year ahead!!

That is an insane plot twist right there! I wonder what happens next, and if one chapter is really enough to clear everything up :eyes:

@northpilot @Shin Thanks a lot! :heart:

I have some bad news… I’ll explain after you’ve read the next chapter.

You mean… a cliffhanger? :eyes:

Good luck on your handwriting practice! I plan on doing handwriting practice some time 6 months in the future, the same practice Asher did on Bunpro forums. Hopefully by then, I can enjoy N3 (or N2 :face_with_raised_eyebrow:) level material without many problems, besides the damn vocabulary, to spare some time to it.

Also as a reading exercise, I found out the Bunpro Reading Passages are pretty good. Like the TWC, they are pretty limited, so you can read them all very quickly. The N5 sentences are pretty unnatural, because there’s not enough grammar to use in them, so reading after lesson 8 or so is not a bad idea, although I read the whole thing anyway.

You probably need something to increase your vocabulary seriously, assuming the only tool you are using for this is Wanikani.

Thanks! I wish you good luck too! :smiley:

Thanks for linking that! I wasn’t aware that this is a thing! :sweat_smile:

I also go through the vocab on Bunpro for vocab. Not sure if that’s enough, but if not: I’m always open for recommendations!
