Japanese Film Festival 2022 - Online

From Feb 14th to Feb 27th the Japanese Film Festival Online (which is one portion of the Japanese Film Festival JFF, according to the website) will take place online, with 20 free movies!

Weirdly it’s only available in a select handful of countries:

Happy watching

If you want to watch together with others, here is a poll for that!

Ah shame that it’s not the UK. We have the Japan Foundation Touring Film programme here which was online last year so I got to see all the films, but this year it’s back to being in cinemas only so I can only go and see one as there’s no cinemas near me taking part

Not available in France either.
Enjoy for me! Make some feedbacks in due time please.

Yep, I’ve been looking forward to that. Already made a list of the films I want to see. Also, this isn’t the Japanese Film Festival, but rather a sort of off-season online mini version. (I actually missed last year’s festival here. Just never really got around to making the time to see anything…)

Ah, thanks for clarifying! I’ll take it anyways

Hopefully this will work over VPN, as it is not properly available in my country.

… of course, it isn’t available in Japan.

As the website says: “JFF, or Japanese Film Festival, is a project of the Japan Foundation created with the aim to share the excitement of Japanese cinema with the world.”

And of course, Japan itself is not part of the world :woman_shrugging:

Count me in! I need to finish watching trailers but I’m already excited about Masked Ward. Sakaguchi did a great job in Signal so I’m sure he’d kill it in a thriller.

Thoughts on an interest poll? Maybe a loose watching schedule based on results for conversation purposes?

Thanks for sharing this!

Sucks that there are no Japanese subtitles though

Hope they figure out their copyright issues before the festival starts :upside_down_face:

This is from trying to watch the trailer.

Pretty interesting films judging by the trailers. At least the few trailers I watched all seemed interesting. Thank you for the link I will definitely watch some of these while they are available.

Luckily, the movies themselves aren’t simply uploaded to YouTube. :stuck_out_tongue:

Happy Flight is good fun, though. I watched it a fair while ago - plan to watch it again if I’ve got the time.

Not available to me. :frowning: I so want to watch under the open sky.

I can link your polls and/or schedule posts from the OP if you put them in this thread.
