[iOS] Tsurukame - native app with offline lessons and reviews

I gotta add my +1 to your +1. Having just migrated to ios from android, which had an anki mode on it’s FlamingDurtles app, has made the transition hard. With that said, I do really like tsurukame, it has an excellent ui and some nice features, it’s nearly perfect for my needs

Just your average run-of-the-mill pull request. Nothing interesting here…

Right?

Yeah, an Anki mode would be really cool. Flaming Durtles is one of the few reasons why I still use Android as my primary mobile platform.

One thing I’ve never understood is the as-you-go correct % indicator. It seems overly generous and also doesn’t match the more sensible % shown after you’re done your reviews.

For instance, I just did my first item in a review, reading and meaning back to back. I got the reading correct and then the meaning wrong. With that one item down, it currently shows “:+1: 66%”. In what sense is anything 2/3 correct here? Either it should say 0% since I failed that item (and this is how it is reflected at the end summary), or it should say 50% if you’re counting reading and meaning separately.

what is anki mode?

does flaming durtles have this option?

@smearedink I think that’s how the WK website works.

@evandcs

Is that how the website works? I’ve barely used anything but Tsurukame tbh. :stuck_out_tongue:

But wherever it originates, can anyone at least explain what the 66% refers to in my above example??

I still couldn’t find how to use anki mode on flaming surtles :frowning:

I think you have to enable advanced settings, then you should see the anki mode option in review settings

I believe you received 3 questions.

  1. Reading correct - score is 1/1 - 100%
  2. Meaning incorrect - score is 1/2 - 50%
  3. Meaning, again, now correct - score is 2/3 - 66%

The end summary simply checks for items which have been completely correct for meaning (and reading if applicable) - so on the end summary, it would be 0/1 - 0%.

Ok I see. I think this is a silly way to keep a running tally, but at least I understand it now!

This is really exciting, will it be in the app soon?

Is this going to be added soon? I think my hands are going to give out much faster than my motivation haha

Recently, “Show remaining” listing has an off-by-one error, namely after I did 4 kanji lessons on the new level, the list has three kanji in “Apprentice 1”, and the forth kanji is listed in “Available in Lessons”, while properly displaying “Review in 2 hours”.

Yeah, unfortunately, sometimes, it’s a bit more than one.

Cool Stuff. Many Thanks! When do you think that we can have this version in the App Store?

I’d like it to be soon, but I have no idea. First, it’ll have to get to the TestFlight version…
