I want to practice grammar the fun way! But don't know how

Hey guys, I have a problem, I love learning new Kanji and Vocab everyday, and I don’t mind learning Japanese grammar as well, but as for grammar practicing … I find it so boring!
I thought maybe was my method (I usually do the Genki Grammar exercises), so I’m asking you guys if you know any other practicing methods that are fun or relatively less boring than the Genki textbook and workbook exercises.
That way I keep motivated to learn and practice new Grammar and I make sure I don’t forget it!

Yeah, that’d be the boring way. :stuck_out_tongue:

Try consuming some actual Japanese media. Read a book, play a game, scroll social media, follow a news website. Et cetera. Be warned that it’s gonna be a big jump in difficulty, and you’ll most likely struggle for a while, but if you keep at it, it gets easier.

If you like Wanikani, maybe try Bunpro for grammar.

Here’s some beginner Japanese media resources:
Satori Reader - voiced short stories with furigana (paid, with a few free stories)
NHK New Web Easy - voiced short news articles with furigana
WaniKani Absolute Beginners Book Club: currently reading Card Captor Sakura, but the previous book clubs still have threads too. the media isn’t geared towards non-natives, but having a vocabulary sheet and a forum to ask questions in helps a lot, and it’s fun to chat with other people about the story!

Youtube has good study materials as well. I really enjoy Learn Japanese with Tanaka san, the stories are funny and often use the same sentence structure multiple times so you can get more familiar with it.

If you want to try producing Japanese grammar, you can try writing in Japanese, like making a simple diary, or writing a single sentence every day. I find it’s more interesting to come up with my own sentences than to simply drill. If you want a bit of that community aspect, you can put what you write into a study log in the forum!

Do you do them from the book?
When I started doing them from this website instead, I found them a lot more interesting:

If your Japanese listening comprehension is okay, 日本語の森 do short videos on a grammar point from N3 level upwards - this way you do three things at once: listen, read & learn grammar

You can also watch some YouTube videos along with your Genki exercises. Doing this will help you get the most out of your practice, and some videos are fun too! I recommend ToKini Andy.
