dont get this tattoo. japanese culture frowns on tattoos. even in a hidden place you wouldnt be allowed in most onsens. the fact that you cant speak the language either, people will just mock you for it. if its from a manga at least get a picture not text, especially something as depressing as ‘we can only continue living’. when people asks you what it says and you tell them that, people will just feel sorry for you. its your own decision but i cant stress enough that you will regret this tattoo. dont get it! tough love.
I’m planning on someday painting my living room wall with the full grid. A nice memento of my biggest accomplishment.

This is it. There’s this japanese movie called 記憶にございません。It seems to be about a politician losing his memory after a stone hits his head. He shouts out the line towards the end of the trailer as well. "記憶にございません”。What does that mean? It’s not in my memory = I don’t remember? It’s not a simple わすれませんでした so it must have some other nuance to it? Is it just formal speak for the same thing or is it something else?

You could say it’s formal speech, although it sounds a bit weird to me.

記憶にない is somewhat equivalent to 覚えていない (I don’t remember), but わすれました (I forgot) definitely has a different nuance.
I wouldn’t say that 記憶にない is an exclusively formal expression; only the ございません makes it formal.
