I’m using WaniKani which helps me recognize kanji, and I’m using Anki to help me learn vocab, but I’m looking for something that helps me be able to actually write kanji by hand, since the other two just help me read. Does anyone have a free resource for that that they like? Preferably something that I can use to write in a notebook since I don’t have an apple pencil and writing characters with my fingers on a screen doesn’t stick in my brain as well.
what I do is: I made an anki deck that is mostly the reverse of the WaniKani kanji cards. Before flipping the card I try to write the kanji and use that to decide how to proceed with the card.
the first couple of times, it helps to pull up the stroke order for the kanji on jisho if i’m not sure about it.
i’m also starting to practice writing in japanese by journalling, but it’s tough and i’m not pushing too hard with it.
I don’t use a program, but I do have a method:
Restarting Handwriting
If any of the methods don’t work out for you, hopefully you can find some inspiration on there.
Another opportunity to share my love for kanji.sh
Not sure on the offline one, but I’ve used Ringotan in the past and it works okay writing with finger (I have an S pen but I don’t feel like taking it out and putting it back in when I do it, plus sometimes I’d do it while sitting outside with the dogs and that makes it a very dangerous proposition).
