Not sure if I’m in the right category, but anyway. When using my phone, on mobile data specifically, I can’t access Wanikani at all. I just get an ERR_CONNECTION_CLOSED message. But when I connect to WiFi, there’s no trouble at all!
I switched my sim back into my old phone (I got a new one recently) to see if that might help, but no change. Reset everything I can think of, barring a factory reset. About to download another browser to see if that helps, but I thought I’d ask since I can’t find anything helpful on google - have any of you ever had an issue like this?
I had the exact same issue once except it was the reverse: the issue was with WiFi, and turning off WiFi fixed it.
My theory is that it has to do with the reception; when I had the issue my WiFi reception wasn’t so great, so maybe your mobile reception isn’t too great?
Can you try using WK on the phone via browser not the app?
Try a different device tethered to your phone and check it?
Check the network for outage?
I had the same issue, I found it was caused by the phone momentarily connecting to an open wifi connection. Perhaps try to make sure that your wifi is disabled when you are using mobile data to stop it from auto connecting to nearby wifi connection. It sounds like it just never works with mobile data though for you so this fix may not work.
Looks like the main issue was because my network was having some trouble with AWS sites, and apparently WK is in that number. I can access the site now through the browser, but for some reason the WK app is still struggling and won’t recognise my API. (This is just through data. Works fine on WiFi)
I know the creator is no longer actively working on the app now, so I guess I’ll have to use the browser until it sorts itself out.
