Enjoy reading! Make sure you check out the vocabulary sheet!
Thanks a lot and thank you for organizing this club session !
Do you think reading without doing an Anki deck on the side is still beneficial ?
I really cannot add more to my workload right now, as I am going “fast” on Wk + doing grammar
Aha yes thank you ![]()
I will use the threads!
Btw, no need to ping anyone! When you write a question in any book club thread, you’ll magically get an answer from somebody who participated even without pinging ![]()
(Definitely agreed that @soggyboy seems like a reliable person though.)
Best of luck with your second attempt! Don’t give up!
Absolutely!
Also tagging @feralfuton who I think is currently reading straight through the series.
Aha noted !
I wont give up, I actually read this manga before in native language, I realized it when I started to pick it up in Japanese, and the story is very nice, I am surprised the learnnatively level is so low !
I’m already well within 20 pages in, using Yomitan is also easier for me than looking things up often.
Taking notes of the grammar points and moving forward to keep reading enjoyable is just what I do at the moment, so that’s cool
I just finished book 8, moving onto book 9 soon after I finish some reading for other book clubs. It’s good so far! Good to see some easy reading in the horror genre.
And I like the vocab for vampire 吸血鬼 - it has a nice ring to it
Well, I have finished the first volume pretty fast. Some pages I didnt even have to look up, but of course a lot of “contemplative pages” helped go kinda fast, with the use of Yomitan.
As long as I had the “general meaning” of the sentence (with correction of course), I moved on.
I did see A LOT of grammar points that I struggled with, so I will go around the posts here and study on my side the issues I ran into :).
And I plan to finish the serie this month! I really like it, I have read it years ago (to a point I forgot about it), and never finished it, but I already liked it then, so that’s perfect ![]()
Congratulations on finishing a volume of manga in Japanese! ![]()
Thank you! It feels very motivating, I love manga and read Thousands, so if I can apply it into Japanese language, I should progress fast! Not loving anime is kinda my weakness in all of this, lol.
I think there are plenty of people who don’t watch anime but still study Japanese. There are other things to watch like J-dramas or youtube content!
Yes, I love midnight dinner, cant wait to watch it once I am approaching its level :).
Also Gaki no Tsukai but… I mean… I dont think I will ever be prepared for this lol
