I do know bunpro. I actually used it back when they first launched beta and a bit maybe a year later to see what it was like.
I didn’t use it really and I didn’t think it was a good concept of a service either. I thought it was best used just as an index for other sources and explanations and the srs component was pretty bad for learning how to read.
It’s been awhile though so maybe its changed.
I think it is as the grammar blogs go into detailed explanation.

I might be wrong, but as I viewed his videos, I already decided that Andy is not an expert in the sense that he’s a college professor on the Japanese language, or a ‘certified’ instructor by some Japanese government agency, etc.
I think he is a guy who has a knack for language, who immersed himself in the Japanese language and culture and with the help of Japanese friends has become knowledgeable in the Japanese language.
But he is someone that I can listen to without getting bored (like reading Genki 1) and that I can screen for myself what I’m willing to accept or not. And, even if I end up accepting something that is not correct, I imagine it might be more of a nuance than something that is TOTALLY wrong. So, I can live with that.
It’s like pm215 said above regarding ‘wa’ vs ‘ga.’ Was Andy ‘wrong?’ It depends on the situation. But he put forth one explanation that I could live with for now. As my journey continues, I’ll learn the various nuances that surround this topic.
The way you compare that to a certified instructor puts it in a negative light, I don’t know if you mean it that way, but I definitely thinks he is qualified to teach the language due to the interest he has put in it and that he has had to understand himself how it works. While if you take a random native, they will have a lot of vocabulary and so on, but grammar wise they might not know all the rules but just what “sounds good”, so I’d rather him teaching me grammar than the random native for sure

He readily admits at various times that he doesn’t know something or other for certain, but ‘this’ is what he personally believes to be true, i.e., he doesn’t have the scholastic knowledge to say that ‘this’ IS the way it is, but based on his personal experience he provides us his belief on ‘this’ topic.
If I had stopped at that first paragraph, then I could understand your reaction. But in the next paragraph I go on to say how he ‘has a knack for language,’ took the time and made the effort to immerse ‘himself in the Japanese language and culture,’ and as a result became ‘knowledgeable in the Japanese language.’
I also say that I WILL continue to watch HIS videos to LEARN from him! So, it was NOT my intention to put him down and not listen to him because he is not credible (by lacking certifications). Otherwise I would not continue to watch his videos. So, again, I thank you for your post that led me to him.
All this came about when Vanilla posted, ‘The reality is, andy is no expert…’ I was merely letting Vanilla know that I was already aware of that from a professional / scholastic / certified manner. But he is an ‘expert’ in being able to teach us what he knows and that is why I will continue to learn from him.
