Nah, but I have been using the handle on a bunch of forums of ages.

Going on Vacation really slows your process

Me again! The stable studying is getting a little freaky. Never done this before.

Forgot to post yesterday. Level 30 is the last level I’m doing before moving on from Wanikani, so this’ll be my final week of taking new lessons. As an aside, I finished reading my first light novel in Japanese last night. (Slayers Vol 1, nothing too hard)

Level 21 celebration post! Thinking of slowing down to fit in some grammar practice as my time is pretty limited.

And yeah no way I could remember the kanji without the vocab! I am actually worse on the kanji recall than the vocab.

And this is where I will be getting off this wild ride.

The first ten levels felt “easy” (at least in comparison to later).
Level13 was slow because of sitting JLPT N3.
I settled into a routine with 3-4 weeks per level and now, in the 20+ levels, I feel 4 weeks/1 month is reasonable - trying to slow it down and do separate study. Assuming I make it to Level30, I don’t mind slowing WK down even more.

Wow, thought this last one was going to take longer. Level 14 today.

I hope to improve the pace in the next levels

Yeah, I have no excuses for this. I fell off hard for a bit.

Just getting into it. . .

starting to get somewhat consistent again (though unfortunately can’t do the 7-day level up :upside_down_face:)

Fair bit slower this time around, I know it’s only two days on paper but in the previous level I finished a lot more of the new vocab lessons as well. I tripped up a bit on these ones and wasn’t as regular with practicing.

Had a rough start: 531 days between levels 1 and 2. Levels 3-7 took me about 1-2 months to level up, then I had a life event that stopped me for a few months in the middle.
Now I’ve gotten into a groove almost 2 years after starting, leveling up every 2 weeks on average.
Maybe I’ll update again later. No matter what happens, keep going as long as you don’t stop.

Intersting! I didnt know this was a thing… early days yet though…

Woah, level 50!
Doing 2 levels a week is “easily” doable for people who had exposure to kanji ahead of time with reading immersion. For example lvl.50 kanji from words I saw frequently: 邪神, 偶然 and 漫画

I’ll do a review of my experience in a lvl.60 post later in July.

Playing the long game. I had a few weeks where I was too busy to do more than a quick check-in with a few reviews a day, but I’m amazed how well I’m retaining what I am learning. I love this system!

Little bit of a stumble there as I’ve started a new job and haven’t adjusted to any sort of routine yet. I had to go on vacation mode for a bit too. Burned a bunch of items but I’m still at around 130 items per day so I’ll need to work that out.

Hit level 20 yesterday! A bit of laziness around the end of last year (lvl8).
I notice my progress is much more consistent since the introduction of the batch system.

On my way to 40!

My plan is to rush to level 30 and then start reading more and take WaniKani easier. I wonder if it’s a sensible plan. For now I do have the time.
There aren’t any kanji I don’t know until level 13 and I’m not paying attention to the mnemonics, so I hope I don’t crash once I get there, but just in case I’m adding my own synonyms to most radicals. I have to say, WK radicals are infuriating at times.
