I just followed up my 2nd-slowest level-up with my 2nd-fastest.

Level 60 before taking JLPT N1 in July? … Probably not but that would be cool.

Had some IRL stuff going on really heavily during that early-teens range, and these last few levels I’ve been trying to whittle down my huge pile of lessons before progressing the kanji, but ideally I’ll start approaching my goal pace of ‘anywhere below 10 days a level’ soon. I wanna pick up on all my non-WK studying too, and hopefully I’ll be at l60 on WK before my year abroad at university?
Lesson picker and having a proper schedule was definitely a big component in my times dropping down in more recent levels, even taking everything else into account. I still have one or two leeches hanging around from, like, level 8 or so, though, so I’m worried I’m not learning everything properly and that my reading isn’t enough to keep things supplemented.

You guys are so diligent!

I’ve been here since the beta so I’ve had some very long breaks in the middle, but I’m back again. The site’s improved a lot over the years and I don’t feel myself drowning in reviews nearly as much anymore. (Probably helps that my proficiency level has gone up a lot during the breaks from me simply using the language.)

I’m pretty confident that I can get to 60 this time.

Welp, it happened. Final level up chart looks like this. ↑

Still working on a bunch of remaining vocab from the last levels, but overall satisfied. I reached level 60 on day 450, which happened to be exactly one year after arriving in japan (was around level 10 when I arrived). They did move some of the kanji around, so level 46 and up is all fast levels now. However, I was traveling Kyoto and Osaka so I took it slow for level 55.

The kanjis were moved around the day before I became level 48, so it became a fast level just as I went into it. Used the fast level checker to make sure I wasn’t seeing things. :crazy_face:

Currently, the fast levels on Wanikani are: 43, 44, 46, 47, 48, 49, 50, 51, 52, 53, 54, 55, 56, 57, 58, 59, 60

Aside from level 29 (winter holidays) and 36 (spring break / the new school year starting up) things have been really, remarkably stable since the Daily Lessons feature was implemented! Still have no idea how anyone manages 7-day level-ups, as I’m doing 3 sessions a day as it is, but I’m finally happy with how it’s going!
