So are you working through WaniKani just to say you’ve completed it or to actually learn what it’s trying to teach you? Just slow down with your lessons and it will all become manageable. You don’t need to do all your lessons or reviews in one go.
Hey!
I just unlocked level 12 today! what are the odds! I too was a bit overwhelmed with the amount of lessons + reviews, so what I did was make sure I got all radicals, then stop the lessons and do the reviews.
By doing this I accidentally did a couple of kanji lessons too, and they were familiar because of other apps and anime, etc… so, after the lessons I took a break to do like you know, other things with my life… I got back to my lessons afterwards and finished my reviews after dinner. And again, I though it was gonna be hard as hell but I knew some of the kanji already (maybe not the on’yomi) and some vocab, also the radicals felt like the easiest of any previous level.
I normaly enter Wanikani 3 times a day, that’s before, during or after each meal, but if I have some time to spare, or I see too many reviews on queue I usually do them as soon as I can…
Don’t rush it if you are feeling too much preassure, just go at your own pace and try to grasp everything, learning is more about quality than quantity ![]()
man it took me 40 mins to do all 200 with cheating method xD. i did half of my own. and then like i got 40 NEW LESSONS. in 20 mins i got another 70+ plus when thats done another like 50 lessons omg. so thats like 100 new lessons yo gg
@kun123 Might I suggest you create your own Study Log topic where you can post all of these progression results and what appear to be complaints? Otherwise, you’ll continue to get inundated with more posts and replies that suggest you slow down, which it seems you truly do not want to do…
I’m seriously suspecting trolling at this point.
Completely ignoring people’s responses and continuing to post the same things over and over. Plus the lesson numbers really don’t seem to add up for level 12 and no knowledge of the reordering script.
Not to mention that this doesn’t seem to be the user’s first topic that has gone down this route.
No it’s not, and @DelvinWolf has devoted a considerable amount of time providing well thought out replies to seemingly no avail. So they’re either trolling, or genuinely have no desire to hear what other people have to say unless it’s affirmation.
My advice is to slow down. I do 20 lessons every day, and for reviews I only have to do 20 in an hour frame, with the exception of past levels stacking on top of each other in one hour (EX: 40 review at 4pm). I found that 20 lessons every day is a good pace for me, and it usually keeps me around 60-100 apprentice. Sometimes I may do 25 but only if I had a bunch of radical lessons, other than that I’d say slow down and learn what works for you.
Now I regret actually giving good advice since this person won’t take anything we say into consideration (unless if it praises him or confirms his speedrunning is good). Also how tf do you get 198 reviews in 1 single hour? I don’t speedrun so I’ve never seen that before.
anyways. from 6pm to 7:30pm, as expected from my previous post, 200 reviews took me 30 mins. then 30 mins later 70+ reviews. so thats another 70. so thats 270 right. so 1hr and a half completion almost 2 hrs. so at the end another total of 60 new lessons. 60 new lessons is like 30 mins to 1hr. so thats 2 hrs of studying. so basically im staying up all night to watch re zero and studying japanese. gg. and studying spirited away script in japanese
This thread reads like:
“Shoes are stupid, whenever I wear them I just keep tripping!”
“Oh I think that’s because you’re not tying the laces. Here let me show you how…”
“God damnit I tripped again. Who designed these shoes?”
“Do you need help remembering how to tie the laces again? Or maybe try a different style of shoe?”
“Argh I tripped AGAIN!”
is someone making you do all this
This is the way. 10-20 new lessons per day is plenty, take your time with them and you will retain them better. I definitely have days where I only do reviews and let the lessons wait. But I do make a point to do my reviews daily.
Sometimes you miss a day or two though, and that really stressed people out. They come back to WK and they have 350 reviews waiting for them. In that situation, taking your time is again the key. Let your lessons sit for a couple of days and knock out 100-150 reviews at a time, you’ll get them down eventually and can start back up your lessons.
Remember, this is supposed to be fun!
I swear, I hit the entire emotional spectrum reading this thread. I’ve gone from genuine sympathy and concern to frustration and righteous indignation. Eventually I reached the breaking point. So now I’m just chuckling to myself as this thread continues.
I wonder what new poor soul will venture to explain to this ogre next.
Yes, ogre. They’ve passed the point of being a troll.
Guys, you’re all so wonderful for taking the time and giving all these wonderful and helpful explanations… but…
Y’all gotta stop wasting your time. I don’t know what is going on with this person. They are:
- Not listening to anyone’s advice.
- Not responding appropriately to questions people ask them.
- Complaining of the same thing over and over again without changing their behaviour. (Multiple** threads where they do this to people, mind you.)
- Admitting to cheating just to get reviews out of the way, throwing any intention of actual learning out the window.
I don’t think engaging with this person will be helpful. They’ve already received tons of advice and explanations, and links, tutorials, guides, videos, you name it.
They either need to stop and read what is available, or continue to talk to themselves on this thread. Please don’t waste your time. They’re received help already. Bless all your hearts for trying so hard.
《been eating popcorn while reading this thread since day one》
But seriously, I pity the effort placed by those who responded. ![]()
The title of this thread made me think that the end of humanity was approaching. The drama. I have to back it.
