Oh nice work guys.
I haven’t received an email since like, level 3 though.
I mean, I received the end of year one for memory. Did anyone check that one out?

Checked it. Nothing.
Added a link to the Have you leveled up in February? We need your help thread in the top wiki.
Omg, now I‘m excited! And we have a lot already from the lower levels up to 13!
When i got the level 6 email a few days ago i thought “huh this is kinda weird, with koichi being dead and all” but i thought everyone got these kind of email so i didnt think about it too hard
now i feel stupid
Wondering if the names are important. Seem to be introducing a lot of characters. I see Captain Bottomfingers, Ugly Brodo, Weemo, Dumbledore, Chorp, Bipple, and Dingle.
Was also entertaining the idea of “nth character of level n’s message” making a sentence or something, but the first 13 characters of “.elonauiknsgl” isn’t particularly English (period is filler, not significant).
Yeah, that’s very strange. Mine also has this phrase: “You made it to Level 13, the unluckiest level.” But the part after “Love, Koichi” is “<!-- DURTS B DURTING –>” (and there is no mention of Bipple). Here’s a link to the full source.
Aww, durtnuggets. I reset down from being swamped at level 41 days ago. Nothing much I can contribute at this level. Well, maybe having a look once we’ve compiled the clues. I do love a good riddle.
That was a very nice find, Liuyuan! Great thinking! ![]()
Also noticed the first letter of the characters are at the very start of the alphabet:
Brodo
Bottomfingers
Chorp
Dumbledore
Dingle
except: Weemo and Norman, so probably bullshit. But still character names might be important
Maybe someone can put this on the spreadsheet, I‘m on my phone.
Level 30:
Fear gripped me as I realized what Bipple was saying. Norman pulled me through the descension hole, but I still saw everything. Yanking off his yellow t-shirt, Bipple’s nipples shown huge and bright.
The B4 text info might still be relevant, with the 240 Durtles and the 4x multiplier. Since we’re expecting to have 60* level messages from the mails, it might be that only one message out of four should be read.
Or maybe just the first letter of each? Or each capital letter? Or using our beloved “eGoooott” as a key for some dark cipher method on each first letter of the name of the character of each level?
Right now I think our best move is to get as many messages as possible, so I won’t dive into any of these theories ![]()
*There is not “Level 1” level up mail, but the “WK is hard” one can be used instead
Lol. Can you just imagine what people will think when they open WK and see 75+ unread messages for this thread?
“I wonder what wild tangent they’re going on about now. smh”
Not sure if it’s because I did the whole “email preferences reset” thing (@dasding) but I did just get the lvl 27 email now. So there’s that. Updated spreadsheet already.
“Yes! Yes! Yes!” he screamed as his arrowheads grew huge and red. Then he screamed.
Out from Bipple’s nipples two arrows flew, striking their targets true.”
I cleaned up the wiki a little bit.
@tmninja since we have found hidden messages in the mails, I don’t think we need the poll in the top post anymore ![]()
… I haven’t received an e-mail since January 8th, and it was one of those e-mails reading “Where are you? You’ve got reviews to do!” which invariably arrive while I’m in the middle of actually doing said reviews.
Seems I was wrong in my assumption that Koichi wouldn’t set a puzzle that becomes unsolvable if we can’t hold peoples’ interest, except this is far worse, because now we’re relying on ( a ) people not deleting e-mails, or losing them in the spam folder until they’re auto-deleted, ( b ) people who have said e-mails actually reading the Community, and ( c ) the actual infrastructure of the Internet itself not losing the e-mails in the aether.
Anyway:
“Durtles?” I asked. “But that’s impossible.”
“Why, sometimes I’ve believed as many as six impossible things before breakfast,” said the queen.
This is a quote from Alice in Wonderland. Or maybe Alice Through the Looking Glass. I’m guessing the rest are direct literary references too?
Well, using a website like durtle.club for the ARG is also relying on the “actual infrastructure of the Internet itself”
you know, I was wondering why I got a level 16 email when I was only a day away from hitting 17… 16 seemed so out of the blue too
great realization @Liuyuan
level 16: (ive updated spreadsheet)
“I had my team of Diggers.
Righteous followers of the Crabigator, all!”
Websites tend not to get lost in the aether. Much easier to notice a website that doesn’t load than it is to notice an e-mail that doesn’t arrive.
GUYS! I noticed something the lines build a chain with the first letter, the second line of a message always starts with the same letter as the first line of the next message. So far it’s this till message 13.
it’s
WUIRDTTWGEIB
Later messages seem to break this pattern in a way
Oh, nice observation. Perhaps the chain of letters themselves is not important, but rather they serve as a clue for getting the later messages in the correct order. As I mentioned in the other thread, the one for level 27 appears to follow the one for 30, and if you order them like that, the letters match.
Fear gripped me as I realized what Bipple was saying. Norman pulled me through the descension hole, but I still saw everything.
