Seems unlikely to me, knowing how bad most durtles’ educations are. They do have some pretty good creative thinking, though. I wouldn’t put it past a durtle to come up with an entirely new cipher that probably nobody’s ever used before.
The longer it takes the better it is for me. If the timing is right, I’ll consider the making the bottom EtoEto…

I don’t really know how to define “advanced decryption” but I can tell you that myself and all the durtles are bad at math so I doubt it will be advanced. Different, maybe.
Have you seen many Durtles on your way? Perhaps they’re all deeper… or perhaps they just haven’t bothered because they know the folly of even attempting.

You know, Koichi just told us to do our reviews. What if some of the numbers and info we’ve unearthed in the spoiler thread are actually meant to direct us to particular review pages to use in the cipher instead?
Also, ‘This is no time or place for Disciples of the Crabigator’… he’s got to be talking about some kind of Japanese oral proficiency exam. Something where reading kanji is the least of your worries.
i.e., a reminder that we still haven’t figured out the significance of that clue.
“Time” wasn’t on the B3 page. Plus, the Regular Durtle mentioning midnight, makes me think that in addition to the date part that led to the Tofugu page, there’s a time component.
I’ll just help you out with this one. You already figured out all the time related stuff when you turned the stroke count to a date.
