Wow, I literally just looked that up yesterday because I kept seeing it mentioned and I was curious about what it was… and now it’s free? That’s some convenient timing :+1:
(also, this is my first time reading an actual book using the kindle app, and the dictionary thing is pretty cool)

I have no idea if it’s any good or not, but I saw that there was an anime adaption for this manga(Fire Force), so I figure it may be of some interest to some people that the first three volumes seem to be free:

Woops was meant to update this over the weekend but got busy. I’ll update later on, but I was able to find the first few volumes of both Death Note and Bakuman for free. I’ll link and update any now-dead links later.

EDIT:
Death Note vol1 vol2
Bakuman vol1 vol2

It still works for me just fine, I’ll double check later on just in case though.

They also don’t seem to say limited time free on them, so I was under the impression they were always free.

As I said, I’ll double check later but the links still work for me.

EDIT: Yeah it’s free, however 7SEEDs is no longer free, so I’ve updated and removed that.

I don’t know if someone mentioned it already but I think you should add this link Amazon.co.jp: 無料コミック: Kindleストア
I don’t really remember where I got it from but I had it saved on bookmarks lol.
Thanks for making this post, it’s really useful!!

Removed One Week Friends and Switched as they are no longer free.
Also, when I have time, I’ll add the first few volumes of Hikaru no Go, as they’re free at the moment.

EDIT: Hikaru no Go vol1 vol2 vol3
My Story vol1 vol2
Mob Psycho 100 vol1 vol2 vol3

Thank you, I was using that link, but I hadn’t added it yet it seems. I’ll add it.

Really?! I love Hikaru no Go! It’s too bad Amazon Japan won’t let me purchase any Kindle titles. (╥﹏╥)

I used to just go to manga and sort by lowest price to achieve the same thing but thanks for the link!

Tunnelbear vpn was recommended earlier, I used it myself and after a couple times now its not making any issues even without a vpn, you should try it! (It has like 500mb free trial, enough for just buying them and then turning it off for the downloads)

They also need to have the Kindle registered to the Amazon Japan account and have a Japanese address.

I dont use a japanese address and it works fine. As for the kindle I just use my android phone so not sure there.

Yeah, maybe because you’re using a VPN? I don’t need a VPN.

Yeah, android app is fine, but if they have an actual kindle they’ll need to register it to the Japanese account.

July 18th afternoon update!
Some new ones, which is exciting because PN, KN, and CT volume 1 were all in my wish list.
These are all free for a limited time.
Blue Exorcist vol1 vol2
Promised Neverland Volume 1
Kare Kano Volume 1
Child’s Toy Volume 1
Astra Lost in Space Volume 1
Yu-Gi-Oh Arc-V Volume 1
Fruits Basket Volume 1
Furuba is the second manga I ever bought (first was Rurouni Kenshin, not great in hindsight).

EDIT: Oh and Neighbourhood Story volume 1 is free again.

This had me confused for a bit. I loved this as a teen, but the title was never translated, only romanised.

Lots of good titles again.

Yeah, I loved it as a teen too but I couldn’t 100% remember the name (I think it was also shortened or combined and they added in some subtitle? Like Kodomocha: Sana’s Stage).

2019年8月1日22:00までの期間限定無料お試し版です。2019年8月2日以降はご利用できなくなります。キャンペーン期間終了後もお楽しみいただくには、通常版(有料)をご利用ください。

Am I interpreting this correctly and I can only read/access it until the 1st of August? (or do they merely mean you need to order it by then)

From my experience, if you ‘buy it’ it’s in your account forever and it’s only free on the site, so I believe the latter, but I’m not 100%/

期間限定無料お試し版 are not free forever, from what I know.

They’re free forever once you “buy” them, when it’s the original version (free for a limited time), not a limited time version (separate from the original).

I am able to re-download NANA which was a separate version and a limited time version, and I believe it’s no longer free, but I’m still not 100% sure.

I thought that because in eBookJapan, you can’t buy the 期間限定無料お試し版, you can just read them. While you can “buy” the free original version.

I might be wrong, or it might be different in Amazon.
