Some more suggestions:
- 遠慮する – to hesitate
- kanji 構 – posture, pretend
- 投票する – to ballot
- 内緒話 – secret conversation, secret talk

Also there’s an issue that synonyms added to the warning list compared only by strict comparison instead of typo-forgiving comparison used for correct answers. So “to narorw” for 縮まる won’t yield a warning despite having “to narrow” in the warning list.
How about a Feature Request, of submitting user synonyms from User Synonym box, or from API?
In addition, submitting general comments regarding each item would be nice.

while I agree it would be cool for wanikani to review and officially accept some additional synonyms (sometimes I am not sure how close my incorrect answer is, and whether it’s not accepted due to some shades of meaning, etc.) are people using the option to add your own synonym? this gets rid of the problem of an individual constantly giving the almost-right wrong answer, at least.

To be honest, I still don’t get it. I’ll suggest “to grow dark” as a potential answer but I see no evidence of “to grow late” meaning the same thing.
Good shout, I’ll bring this up though we may not be able to look into it right away.
This has been suggested before and we have a ticket for it but it’s unfortunately not a priority right now.

Instead of adding all of these synonyms manually, would it not be possible to just allow all entries from jisho.org for any given word or kanji? Even if there are some synonyms jisho allows you’re not content with, you’re probably still saving yourself some work removing those entries rather than manually finding every single acceptable synonym for every item on WK.

We certainly could, and we might save a bit of time. But letting mistakes from Jisho slip through is something we want to avoid and finding those mistakes would definitely take more time than the current process, plus we’d still need to manually add the various synonyms to either the primary meaning, allow list, warning list etc…
We’ve made the following changes for now:
