Not to be a buzzkill, but whats the point in localizing an app where one of the main objectives is to write english answers?
As I suggested before, please fix the web review (sometimes slow, can get confused very easily etc.) before programming shiny new APIs.
I think the web review is now in the works with highest priority and such things like a "shiny" API is one of the most important things a mondern webapp community like WaniKani needs. Just wait 1 or 2 month and you will see the first super stunning releases of people. (I think Wanikanify is already very stunning!)
