I know there is “extra study” about burned items but what happens when I finish all of them, can’t I study them again? Is there a way to review burned items whenever I want?
By the time you’re burning large numbers of items, you’re much better off reinforcing those items by encountering them in real usage - reading books, playing games, et cetera - than by endlessly re-reviewing them in WaniKani.
But yeah, there’s an add-on somewhere around the place. Its name escapes me at the moment, though. Um…
I seem to recall that when you have gone through all of them and the list reaches zero, it resets. My list is way too high at the moment for me to test/confirm that.
However, as I am sure lots of folks will chime in and mention, by that time you should really be moving on and expanding your sources of input and study material and consuming Japanese content and encountering things “in the wild”.
You can always unburn any burnt item. It will set it back all the way to apprentice level. There is a script I have seen (at least one) that lets you mass unburn items. I do not recall what it was, as I have never used it.
My problem is I don’t focus on kanji that much, I really learn slowly, I focus on other areas of the Japanese so I am not at level of reading things but I have many burned items because, like I said, I take my time studying kanji.
Those sound like contradicting statements
I am not a native english speaker but I think “I take my time” means doing things in your own pace, I am not sure though. In the end, I do it slowly and I focus on other things like I said.
I had the same issue with burned items. Once you’ve gone through them all, you usually can’t revisit them in the same way. What I did was recreate or import them back into my study deck if I wanted to review specific ones. It’s a bit of a hassle, but it helps keep the info fresh.
