Buying Tobira textbook in London?

Hey!

I was wondering whether someone has found Tobira materials in a bookstore in London. I guess it would be much cheaper to get it from a bookshop than to order it online.

Thanks!

I don’t know about the UK, but for me (Sweden) ordering from Amazon.jp has been very convenient

Do you know about the Japanese bookstore near Danish(?) street? I can try to look up the address for you. I was there a couple years ago, and they did have some textbooks, if I recall correctly.

I’d appreciate if you could look up the address for me. Thank you for your help!

Yes I found it! They used to be on 24-25 Denman St, but they seem to be closed :fearful:. They do have an online store that also sells Tobira:

Also, do you know Kissaten on Brewer St? It has karaoke rooms and a japanese language manga shop in the back.

I should have said that I am a tourist in London so I don’t know anything but the Foyles bookstore I’ve bought some graded readers from. I’ll note the Kissaten and perhaps check it out. Thanks once again!

Hello,

I am sure that they had copies of it in the Japan Centre,

Hope this helps.

Alternate option: try a university bookshop. If they’ve got a Japanese language department, they’ll sell Japanese textbooks in the bookshop. :slightly_smiling_face:

Good idea. Best course for Japanese in London is SOAS, never thought about looking in their bookshop before.

Try the big Waterstones on gower st next to UCL and SOAS.
