Best resource for learning sounds

I am having a little trouble with mnemonic but I’m getting better. The thing that I’m struggling with is sounds, sometimes I remember the mnemonic but the sound doesn’t match when I try to type it out.

I have been trying to use Google Translate but does WaniKani have anything built-in or are there other resources?

The mnemonics give you the general gist of how words are pronounced - to understand the actual sound of the word, you need to know hiragana, which is assumed knowledge for WaniKani. Tofugu has a guide on hiragana here:
