Balance between lessons and reviews? help needed

I was going through my lessons and vocab just fine finishing levels in over 15 days not worrying about leveling up BUT THEN! as my subscription and the year approaching an end I thought about trying to level up faster… and saw few posts about order script and so I was doing Kanji and barely touching vocab as I got excited about the level up .. levels from 9 to 12 has walls of vocabulary that I needed to go thro and so I did.

I finished level 9 and 10 but when I started going thro the backlog of level 11 I neglected reviews. Now as I move on with finishing lessons the reviews keep coming and I lost all the balance I used to have in WK. I spend hours on WK.

I see people advice to stop lessons so we can finish the reviews but I do need to keep going on both sides. I had 400+ lessons left behind but now I only have 200. As day pass reviews piled too now I have 240. Pausing it on vacation mode sadly will stop lessons and reviews altogether. Wish it was only a slow down in reviews while we chill in lessons lol.

As I write this I know I just need to go through it and it will be done. I am just frustrated I guess and wish I kept going at my own previous way of studying. Cant wait for the discounted price to come back again too. I have few Kanji books but wanikani is the one that kept me going so far

You just have to go through the load of reviews until you get it done. To keep that from happening again, slow down on the lessons. I think probably all of us here have done this at one time or another. It’s a hard thing to get through. But the lesson reviews pile up fast, so don’t go too fast through the lessons or the reviews will become a huge pile again. Good luck!

Exaclty and this is what I am doing atm. However I do have to go thro the lessons that piled up from previous levels. I do go through way more than 50 each time I open the site takes hours coz I do read the mnemonic thoroughly and then I look up interesting ones on different sites to hear them in context etc. Thanks for the reassurance. It will get done.
