I will update with a more real speed estimate after a half dozen levels or something – for now, the number is sort of irrelevant.
I would pose a question to the rest of you on the mission: What are early signs for you that you’re overloaded or going too fast?
(I plan to take a pretty deliberate pace, but still have to check myself!)

Too many cards in apprentice queue, and secondly 7 day performance trending downwards. Mine should be around 88% for that sweet optimal learning zone.

I just base it on my mental state that day. If I’m feeling overwhelmed/irritated by my review pile, I just do some of them (like 20-30 reviews) and don’t do new lessons that day. There’s been a new update that shows how many apprentice items are up for review and you can also sort the reviews by SRS level, so I leave that setting on always- if I don’t get to all my reviews, I can at least get to the apprentice items that need the most repetition.

Alas, the JLPT grind this past week has alas pushed the レベルアップ day to 木曜日. Nevertheless, wishing everyone happy holidays quite a bit in advance and hopefully these next two weeks feel a bit better! Am highly debating getting the lifetime since the sale dropped so soon but not sure if I will need it given the pace I’m going at right now. Nevertheless, here’s to another resplendent level 六.

Hey, had taken the N4 2 months since I began. Fingers crossed since I’m basically hoping to just scrape by with a pass because of the listening section but oh well, focus is just enjoying the learning process and treat these exams as like a checkpoint every few months or so to know where I stand.
