Any suggestions for vocab and grammar studles?

I love Wanikani, but realize it isn’t the best for teaching grammar, as well as simple words that don’t involve kanji. Does anyone have suggestions for improving these? If there’s something perfect that I have to subscribe to, I will but I’d rather not pay for a subscription service, something that’s free or just charges you up front would be preferred as my budget is pretty darn low .

You don’t need a grammar SRS service, so if you don’t have much money then don’t buy one. I don’t think there is any end to free material for any level of ability if you search for it.
I’d say go find anything that’s in Japanese which is interesting to you and power through. There are tools (ttsu, graded readers with at least some free material like Satori Reader) and extensions (rikaikun) that make reading easier especially with kanji you don’t know.

The interface is horribly bloated but the content is the best out there. And it’s free.

For grammar, textbooks are still IMO the best way to learn(so Genki first then Quartet and/or Tobira). But you can use renshuu to get quiz for the grammar you learned in the textbooks.
