Hello all,
I mentioned this deck a few times in the past in these forums but I thought I’d make a thread for it: I made an Anki deck that contains all WaniKani kanji and I also added all remaining Jouyou kanji as well as kanji I encounter in the wild and feel like studying more:

The way it works is that on the front of the card you get the meaning of the kanji as well as words in which it appears, with the kanji itself removed:
Since many kanji have similar meanings there’s also a list of “Related kanji” with overlapping meanings so that you don’t draw the wrong kanji by mistake.
On the back side of the card you get the stroke diagram as well as the keisei (phono-semantic) data:
I started using this deck around WaniKani level 15 because I felt like I struggled to distinguish similar-looking kanji. I also thought it would be cool to actually be able to hand-write Japanese. The way I did it is that I started with all cards suspended, then I would unsuspend them as soon as I did the lesson in WaniKani, so I would progress through both side-by-side.
Since then according to Anki I’ve done over 30,000 reviews:
It’s a pretty big time commitment on top of the rest of my studies but I like it and I do think it helps with kanji identification, especially in weird and handwritten fonts as you often see in manga.
