Alternate mnemonics

Hi,

I wish there was an ongoing thread collecting alternate mnemonics by users. I mostly found archived threads for specific kanji or vocab.

Here’s a few of mine:

  • 得 - reading: “Something acquired is something you took (‘toku’).”
  • 終わる - reading: “Arnie says it’s owah (over / ‘owa’).” (Same for 終わり.)
  • 遠い - reading: “It’s ‘too’ far away.” (I never found all these “toe” mnemonics, well, memorable.)
