Abstormal Cave ⛈️

I got Frodo around the time I first joined WK. Might have been a year in. You guys joined me on the journey of discovering him, naming him and bringing him home. You helped me find the name through Poll thread <3

I’m very sorry for your loss.
Yes, I remember very well how you got Frodo and I know how special he was.
Indeed, 8 years was too small a period…
However, those were a happy 8 years.
You have always been an exemplary pet owner and all your pets are very lucky to be in your care.
Unfortunately, some illnesses are so sudden and so quick that noone, not even you, can do anything about…

May Frodo rest in peace and may the rest of your pets live long and happy lives together with you! love2

I lost a cat, Murre, 10 years ago with the exact same symptoms. It was before I joined here. He had the exact same symptoms, he was also about 8. Couldn’t get him to the vets in time so never got an answer to what happened. It was a Sunday and a holiday, making vet prices extremely high, so tried to wait till next morning. He went south so fast, by the time I realised it couldn’t wait till morning it was already too late.

I felt so bad for not running in sooner. Wondering if he could have been saved. Seeing how similar their symptoms was and knowing nothing could be done for Frodo, I now feel more at ease about Murre’s passing. It was likely too late as soon as his symptoms showed, and now know the likely cause for his passing.

The two never met, but I think their personalities would have been a great match! I imagine they might bond on the other side <3

Both lived their entire life in my current home. I had just moved in here when I captured Murre. A 4 ish week old feral kitten.

I’m so sorry for your loss! He was a wonderful cat.

Have another sad news today.

Had to rehome Leeloo.

She was born in Ukraine in 2024. Imported to Norway and kept in quarantine. She was first sold at 10 months old. She had never been outside at the time, and lost important puppy milestones and habituation (not sure if right word. Translated from «Tilvenning». When you get them used to sights, smells, sounds, people and stranger dogs)

My sister bought two of the puppies. They were bonded and great friends. Then months later one suddenly started attacking the other. Once it started, she never stopped and was hyper focused on attacking her sister.

I took in the victim. She was easy to introduce to my three dogs so I kept her while we trued to find her a home. The person most interested had an intact boy if different breed, and ut was clear she wanted her to breed with him. We decided instead that I keep her. And we got them both spayed, so they could never have puppies and it could help with the behaviour.

But then, several months later, out of nowhere she started attacking my dog Midna. Once ut started she too got hyper focused on attacking her, and only her. At every chance she got she chomped down and wouldn’t let go. When put with a fence between she keot hunting her every move.

Partly genetic, partly lack of socialisation as a puppy. But once it starts, it just doesn’t seem to stop. It will take tremendous work. Midna is traumatised and terrified. So I decided to rehome her instead.

I found a wonderful elderly couple with no other pets. They were used to dogs and recently lost their dog. Leeloo gets to be a single child, sleep in their bed and get all the attention she needs <3

I’m sorry she started attacking Midna, but I’m glad you were able to find her a new home. It sounds like she’ll get to live a happy life. I hope Midna can heal and recover.

It’s socialization in English if you’re curious

Yes! The word slipped my mind and translation didn’t even help

I often end up only remembering the English word for things and not remembering my native Norwegian word

It is Mew’s birthday today

7 years old

Happy Birthday to Mew! :birthday_cake:

May he live many more happy and healthy years with you! love2
