A short level 60 celebration

After consistently grinding for 4 years, I got to level 60 on exactly December 1st (a few days ago). It honestly feels amazing and I may buy a Christmas cake to celebrate on C Day. I got a B1 level pass in N2 last December and while the time I have put into Japanese study has significantly decreased compared to last year (800 hours vs 220), I have still done some listening, kanji and reading. I promise to spend the money next year to practice more speaking on italki, and while I may not actually take the test, I will review N3 and N2 grammar and buy a textbook to study N1 grammar and vocabulary.

Here are my stats….very average.

All the best to those just starting, those in the middle or anyone close to 60. Keep the grind up. It may seem like a long way away, but consistency is key and don’t forget that we are doing this to be able to read more (I am also telling myseldf this).

Well done. Always good to hear how others do. It certainly is a bit of a grind right now, I don’t feel like I am in “paradise” that’s for sure. Good luck for the future.
