Looks like we do! I didn’t know either, haha.
Oops! That was just me being incompetent with a calendar!
I didn’t intend to take a break, but since it was in print, I’m putting this week as a week to read and discuss the Shougi articles that follow chapter 1 (page 36, not that the page number is marked), chapter 5 (page 102), and chapter 7 (page 134). I read the first article, and found it helpful. If you’re not interested, this week could be a break.
The shougi article discussion can be found here…
and I’ve started a separate vocabulary sheet for it here.
We will resume reading the storyline next week!
Almost time for me to read the next volume
Hello, everyone!
I hope you enjoyed your week off/week to read the Shougi articles. I had planned to read the articles, but then I started watching a new-to-me anime, instead .
Chapter 8 Starts this week! The discussion is in the same place.
Chapter 9 Starts this week!
Only one more chapter after this!
My family has started a “Screen-free Saturday” tradition, I have to shift the “first” day of the week to Sunday.
Discussion continues to be in the same place.
Week 10 Starts this week! This is the last chapter, but don’t worry–there’s plenty more volumes published
The discussion is in the same place.
I will be continuing to run this manga as a book club, except at a pace of two chapters per week.
- Take a week off in between
- Start Volume 2 next week

Ugh, I accidently voted when I was just about to write that I’m okay with either option.
Yep, same here
Just a quick update–I was super lazy this holiday weekend (it was Thanksgiving in the US), so I’m going to start volume 2 on Friday. Sometime before then, I’ll update the home thread with a schedule. See you then!
I just finished Volume 1 Can’t believe there were 10 chapters, each of them felt so short 0:
So many cute drawings and wholesome interactions, I like c:
Totally agree with Redglare here. Also, the cats’ commentaries add so much charm too I love them
I love your left handed emoji, FYI
It’s Week 3 of the Book Club!
The discussion can be found here.
If you haven’t already, don’t forget to watch this thread, so you get updates
I am currently unable to update the reading schedule with a link to this week’s discussion thread. Does anyone have advice for me on resolving this issue? I get this error:
Sometimes Discourse forgets the category when you edit a page. If you set it again (at the top, next to the title), you can save it.
The formatting is messed up, but the link still works, right? I am able to click on it, anyway
I have no idea why the formatting is weird. The link looks like it should work just fine. (Week 3 is fine, and it looks the same as week 3)
We’re reading chapters 18 and 19 this week, and the discussion is in the same place as last week.
There’s only one week after this, so I have a couple of questions for y’all.
- Yes, I’d like to continue, but I want to go back to one chapter per week.
- Yes, I’d like to continue at the pace of 1-2 chapters per week.
- Yes, I’d like to continue, at a pace of 2-3 chapters per week.
- Yes, I’d like to continue, and the pace is not important to me.
- No, 2 books was enough for me.
