I think I’m going to start translating the preface of the book. So we can heat up to start reading the first story next week.

“While enjoying the stories”… something. My brain’s not coming up with any translation for this that’s even approaching something natural-sounding.

I think “Understand how to read” kinda sounds unnatural in English. Its sounds like a command to me. Isn’t it better as “understanding how to read”?

I was wondering what that と meant. Maybe and if? I didn’t actually think about the obvious “and” as it only connects nouns, but if you pay attention, the こと on both ends makes both sentences into nouns

This is quite a literal translation, I guess. I just can’t ignore the “まで” 
I think this is quite more like…
These stories are nothing but those I absolutely wish all 2nd graders to read.
Or was it too literal?
On the side note: while I do understand the Japanese, its totally different for translation.

By the way, what does this exactly mean? Browsing through the book, I see every story has a “tag”: 日本のお話, 世界のお話, etc… but the Haiku one says 寺. Is this a type of Haiku or something?
EDIT: Forget what I said, it’s a typo. It’s not 寺 but 詩(poem). I’m going to fix it in the original post.

I just realized I mistakenly ordered 10分で読めるお話 二年生, so I don’t have the original script to follow (I’m so dumb for this mistake so I probably cannot join this thread and I dont have money at the moment)

Well, that is all good, but then someone has to go and pick a date for the manga so we know when this one starts too. (I also want to know when the manga starts because I hope to read both.)
