Thanks for the good luck wishes! i’ve done all the JLPT levels, just the N1 left to try
Best of luck to you with the N5 and N4! How are you studying for them?
Hopefully see you out in Japan this year!

I’ve memorised all the burned items for sure (~45% of items) but the rest i would most likely forget in a few months if i don’t continue to see them while reading… which can be tough for some Kanji/Vocab since you don’t see them often but will continue to quiz myself on everything for the next few years anyway until everything is fully ingrained in my brain
Congratulations! This is very inspiring
Honestly, just the design and ease of use same as you i just couldn’t stick to Anki. Torii is also good for vocab (and free) but again i just found myself sticking to Kitsun more which is the most important thing.
Thank you! and best of luck to you, hope to see you climb up here too!
Hearty congratulations @Ryuichi33 san
Kudos to your perseverance and passion
Good luck with your future endeavors
Well done making it to level 60! That`s a lot of hard work.
How far along on Bunpro are you? And do you find learning with Bunpro enjoyable?
Thanks I’ve just started working through the N1 grammar…I wouldn’t say its enjoyable but its definitely useful and not time consuming at all.
Thanks for your reply, and good luck with your studies and other endeavors.
Good work! Congratulations!
wow!! I’m sure since you’ve beat all the others, you’ll smash the N1 too! 頑張って!
so far I don’t have a studying strategy at all really haha i’ve kind of just been basing my ability around what level the various sites i use (e.g. bunpro and WK) say i’m at (with the occassional practice test on youtube) – since you’ve done all of the levels (感心です!!) do you have any tips? what do you recommend for a JLPT novice ?
Wow you’re incredible!
Is there somewhere I can see a summary like this for myself?
wkstats.com - you need to generate an API token on WaniKani first (go to account then API tokens)
Japanese-Language Proficiency Test Official Practice Workbook | JLPT Japanese-Language Proficiency Test - you can do the practice tests here to test your level and see what you need to work on.
If you want to study specifically for the JLPT test then i recommend the Shin Kanzen Master series (its the most effective but kind of boring) or the TRY series (i haven’t used personally but heard many good things and its not as dry as the shin kanzen master series).
Genki I & II is also a good option to learn the basics but its not specific for the JLPT exams. If you get these books then i recommend watching TokiAndy on youtube because he explains all the lessons in detail.
Either way it depends on your studying style, whether you prefer to learn from textbooks, youtube, etc. Just make sure you have some kind of learning method for kanji, vocab, grammar, and then some reading and listening practice. Good luck!
ty for all the recommendations
!
i’m in a bit of a weird place where i managed to get into the intermediate course offered by my japanese employer and that has been teaching me lots from genki II but I still haven’t technically finished all the grammar from genki I… so that practice test looks super helpful to determine where i’m actually at! i’ve been meaning to start watching tokiandy for a while so maybe i’ll use him to finish up genki I over the next few days
thanks again!
Thanks for letting me know
Congrats!
For example, who is going to remember the kanji for 島 better - the person who only learnt it on WaniKani, or the person who learnt it on WaniKani, read the kanji in one piece manga and also heard the reading used in the anime?
I’m also practicing my reading with a manga, but instead of One Piece it’s Attack on Titan and the most frequent words are the easiest to remember: 巨人「きょじん」 、兵士「へいし」、調査兵団「ちょうさへいだん」、作戦「さくせん」 and I’m sure there are more.
i have a hard time with anki. i think im just lazy with the input, but I do like the system
I couldn’t bother with Anki either, which is why i switched to Kitsun. Haven’t missed a day in months. The UI is much better and the experience all around is much better. Would try the trial and go for the 10k vocab sentence deck with voice.
