I think you can find her on YouTube where you can probably get closed captions. You could listen to the podcast a few times first, then check the video on YouTube for confirmation of what you heard.

Today was very chill. The 5 year old twitcast is precious. It’s titled 僕が朝ベッドから出てパソコンの前に座るまで. Like the fan on my x/twitter timeline wrote it’s basically a “living together with Kanae” voice tape. And it’s out on the internet for free?!? Amazing.

They should be anywhere you can get podcasts! There’s podbean like Lisaveeta said, I use Overcast, but any podcast app should work.

Today’s listen was an 8min episode of Ninjapanese podcast that I listened to twice while walking my low-maintenance older dog. The episode was about weddings, which was mildly interesting, but I felt like I could follow along okay.
Good call! I pulled video with subtitles up for the episode I was listening to today and it was really helpful.
Ughhhh Spotify is the worst for podcasts. Why on earth would it play it in any order other than sequential order?!?!? I’ve tried before with this specific podcast, in fact, and would constantly get frustrated with it. Even though I use Spotify a lot otherwise I’ve given up on it for podcasts. FWIW, Nihongo Con Teppei is available on the open source AntennaPod for Android since it searches the Apple Podcast database. I’ve started using that app and it’s pretty good so far!

Never been a big fan or user of Spotify so I think this is the signal to finally ditch it. I was only keeping it for having a single place to gather music and podcasts, but if the podcasts don’t work…

木瀬部屋 Kise-beya’s 千秋楽 Senshuraku party video (20min)
千秋楽 is the last day of a sumo tournament, all the stables have a party for their supporters that evening (I think). Nice to see 宇良 Ura, one of my favs, here. And 美ノ海 Churanoumi, who will most likely be making his 三役 (top three sumo ranks) debut next tournament, which will make him the first 力士 from Okinawa to EVER be ranked that high! Very cool.

Listened to episode 2 of Bite Sized Japanese Podcast (7min) three times. A general episode about the podcaster’s life. Picked up a pretty good amount on the first listen through, and then felt like I could pick out a few more details of the grammar on the later playthroughs. I like the pace of this one.
I’m not sure what my goal or direction is here, yet. My listening is better than I thought it was, actually. I’m able to pick out sounds easily, pick out words decently well, and the grammar is… I’m not really sure. Sometimes it feels like I’m just flowing a bit through the sentence in understanding, and other times it’s like I’m just hearing key phrases and piecing together the probable meaning through context. And other times I’m just totally lost waiting for a hook to bring me back in.
