Not sure why I can’t blur the image of the final panel
Add a linebreak before the close spoiler tag so that it stands alone on a line. And/or use a Hide Details box instead. 
Another great cliffhanger! This was pretty easy to read, but it had some kanji in different combos and contexts from what I knew (like 丸). The townspeople having semi-old-fashioned speech and the invaders more military-sounding speech kept me on my toes.
Whenever I read something in Japanese, I find a bunch of Wanikani terms I burned 2+ years ago and have sort of forgotten! Oh well, good chance for review.
Indeed. Always having a cliffhanger is stressful 
but I’m here for it. Those different meanings also caught me off guard and it was interesting to learn them. Let’s see how long they will be maintained in my brain though
This chapter keeps being full of surprises, revelations and plot twist. I can’t wait to see what the whole volume has to offer

Too many emails from all the book clubs I am watching I guess.
Also I could not resist the urge to watch the first episode of the anime and could both confirm my understanding of the chapter so far but also a few things I had missed in the artwork. First episode corresponds to the first chapter nicely 
Aye, I was gonna mention that. Next week, when we finish the first chapter. 
I am out of town these days so I had to read it digitally through some fast paced schedule… So far the correspondance with the anime helped A LOT (which is why I’m reading it) but my lack of vocabulary is SO frustrating 
Had to stop a few times to be sure I got the gist of the panel.
Also, this is my very first manga in Japanese aimed at a older audience, so the slang does not help sometimes, but I guess it’s only a matter of getting used to it 
Next week I will be at home, will try to go to a slower pace and even enjoy it more.
Week 3 is here! I am really enjoying this so far although I am afraid of where the “modern” angle will lead us. It definitely has a strong start with the twists and turns. Looking forward to future chapters! 黄泉のツガイ・Yomi no Tsugai Book Club Week 3!
