Love this volume’s cover! Team Mustang, go go go!

Only two pages of omake this time, so we have a clean four weeks schedule.

Whew, stuff is happening.

Why on earth would Mustang lie to Ed and Al at the start, though? He had to have known it wouldn’t hold up for even ten minutes.

Love how there’s still a photo of Yoki on the back of the newspaper.

Yep! \o/

Maybe he doubted their acting ability?
Poor brothers… Too much is happening

Ah, this one? I already forgot his name…

Also I went to look up ブロッシュ軍曹, caught up a bunch of spoilers :see_no_evil_monkey: and: The origin of the surname is Marcel Bloch, the founder of Dassault, a French aviation company famous for fighter jets such as the Mirage and Rafale.

This volume in general is one of my favorite arcs of the story.

Ch 35/36

It’s hard to put the book down during the prison break of Ross - it’s such an exciting part of the story. I struggled to stop at the end of ch 35, and ended up just reading 36 in one go today. The part where Winry finds out is so heartbreaking… but the complexity of the different characters and situations and how they deal with grief is one of the parts of FMA I appreciate the most.

Wagahai wa very angry desu.

Guy could definitely do with a break.

I agree! A really captivating arc!

Yep, it’s totally logical.

How he comes up with things like this on the go?!

Also, love the domesticity!

Oh no, Ed damaged his arm. How careless of him.

Gotta say, though, I absolutely love the coded conversation that Mustang and company have going on. Though I’m willing to bet it’s Roy who came up with the codenames - Elizabeth for Liza Hawkeye, Kate for Kain Fuery, Jacqueline for Jean Havoc…

Page… I’m gonna say 166, I’m honestly curious as to how many Japanese readers will know that 鷹の眼 and ホークアイ have the same meaning.

Ah, I was thinking that there should be some logic, but I totally forgot their names!

Some other notes on chapter 37

Nice koma transition!

Flashback on p. 175

As someone who struggle with Japanese I hella appreciate author’s ability to say a lot without words!

Does it mean homunculuses are created from a bunch of people? Are all of them like this or just Envy?
Also what are these two ropes (?) on a side of her hood?

Also, let’s check, should we have a break?

  • Yes, let’s have a one week break

Chapter 37

I happen to know the answer to this, but I don’t recall how apparent it’s meant to be at this stage of the story, so I’ll leave you with a hint: this panel from chapter 31.

And a slightly stronger nudge: besides Soylent Green, what else do we know is made from people?

Also, homunculi. :stuck_out_tongue:

It’s the tie that holds on her mask, I think. It fell off when Ed destroyed her mask earlier in the volume, but it didn’t appear when Al recreated it.

I’m good with whatevs. :slightly_smiling_face:

Omake spoiler:

this scene killed me lol

I’m also fine with break/no break - I was excited to read on and I finished the chapter early weekend anyway.

Possible further spoilers/specilations

Ah, I think we weren’t told how homunculi () are created

Next volume though…

My favourite was Ed’s expression on this one:
