Also I went to look up ブロッシュ軍曹, caught up a bunch of spoilers and: The origin of the surname is Marcel Bloch, the founder of Dassault, a French aviation company famous for fighter jets such as the Mirage and Rafale.
This volume in general is one of my favorite arcs of the story.
Ch 35/36
It’s hard to put the book down during the prison break of Ross - it’s such an exciting part of the story. I struggled to stop at the end of ch 35, and ended up just reading 36 in one go today. The part where Winry finds out is so heartbreaking… but the complexity of the different characters and situations and how they deal with grief is one of the parts of FMA I appreciate the most.
Gotta say, though, I absolutely love the coded conversation that Mustang and company have going on. Though I’m willing to bet it’s Roy who came up with the codenames - Elizabeth for Liza Hawkeye, Kate for Kain Fuery, Jacqueline for Jean Havoc…
Page… I’m gonna say 166, I’m honestly curious as to how many Japanese readers will know that 鷹の眼 and ホークアイ have the same meaning.
Does it mean homunculuses are created from a bunch of people? Are all of them like this or just Envy?
Also what are these two ropes (?) on a side of her hood?
I happen to know the answer to this, but I don’t recall how apparent it’s meant to be at this stage of the story, so I’ll leave you with a hint: this panel from chapter 31.
