Yeah, that isn’t clear to me either. AnimeNewsNetwork also had an article about this, but didn’t specify either if the anime will cover the same content of the film or if it’s a continuation.
Can’t deny that’d fun, but I am wondering if that’s just because the video is a teaser and doesn’t really reflect the final animation / drawing style.
When I read it, I assumed it just meant it would be released following the film, not necessarily that it would pick up the story where the film leaves off (though given that it’s supposed to be an adaptation of Volume 1, that would also make plenty of sense regardless of what they mean by follow in that particular post).
Congratulations! It was my first novel too, and I have very warm memories related to it Your post made me nostalgic. I wonder many more volumes you’ll read in the end. I was thinking about doing the whole series too, but got burned out after 4 volumes. Got better at reading by that time, too, so I could read more advanced stuff, which was a good thing.
Sometimes I’m considering checking out 5th volume just to see how much I improved. But then I remember hiragana strings and the amount of onomatopoeia.
Very very true all those onomatopoeia are likely not going into my vocabulary study list. And I wish there were more kanji to, paradoxically, make it easier to read.
I’m currently reading it. As I am kinda new to reading, it’s still not a smooth sailing for me. But I think it’s just the right one for my level. Not that hard but not so easy either, I think.
Oh btw, I stream in the jouzu zul’s discord server while reading it. You can hop in if you’re free when I’m reading.
It’s hard to answer. What else have you finished reading?
There will be a lot of unknown words for N4 level, but if you stick with it, you will get the hang of it.
On Natively it is now a 22, although compared to other stuff I’ve read I would still consider it a 23-24 like it used to be. If you have only read manga before, I would suggest trying a prose book around level 20 first, like a book for 2nd graders (this one is for 3-4th graders).
I skipped looking up the onomatopoeia, if you look them all up it would be tougher. For people used to books or manga with lots of kanji, the kana will annoy you. But if you read a book for 2nd graders, then the kanji in Zenitendo will delight you.
I’ve only read juppun de yomeru kowai hanashi L18 with the absolute Beginner book Club from march to May 2025. After that I haven’t read anything anymore. But I’ve learned a lot more Grammar.
The prologue at the start is tougher than other chapters. If you read it, count on muddling your way through the prologue (don’t worry, nothing crucial), ch 1 might feel very tough, and then from ch 2 I guess it will start to feel easier because you have some expectations.
The nice thing is if it works well for you, then you can continue to book 2!
Another option would be to join the first pick of the new children’s book club here if that interests you.
