返る - wrong sentence translation?

返る
われに返ると、かれはトーフグオフィスのソファーに横たわっていた。

When he came to, he was lying on the sofa in the Tofugu office.

Should there be “when I returned” instead.

我に返る is an idiom that means “to come to one’s senses,” or, more simply “to come to” as used in the translation.

Ok, it just my bad English then.

Ah, yeah… double idiom, I guess. “To come to” means to wake up from having lost consciousness. Or from some other kind of… not fully aware state.
