空の軌跡SC // Trails in the Sky SC ⚔ Story Club・Week 6

Week 06 25th August 2025
Last Week Week 5
Next Week Week 7
Home Threads 空の軌跡 // SC

There are a couple plot scenes (you’ll get a third party member and an NPC) and the rest is side quest stuff.

Side Quests and Missable Content

The bolded quests will be expiring this week so if you’re doing those it will need to be now. Everything else still have a long time left to do them so can be left if need be.

Last week’s quests:

  • 来たれ食材ハンター
  • ≪紺碧の塔≫の写真撮影 - if you’ve got access to the three new quests, you can do this one
  • ヴィスタ林道の手配魔獣
  • メーヴェ海道の手配魔獣
  • 灯台の試運転 found talking to the lighthouse keeper. (Turn off the high res fonts for this quest.)

The three new side quests this week:

  • 日曜学校の講師
  • クローネ峠の手配魔獣
  • アイナ街道の手配魔獣

I’m including everything that isn’t a 手配魔獣 in the character count for this week. For the 食材ハンター quest, you’re looking for at least 5 but preferably 6 things.

Discussion Guidelines

Everybody should feel free to post and ask questions–it’s what makes book clubs fun! But please do not post until you are familiar with Spoiler Courtesy!

Spoiler Courtesy

Please follow these rules to avoid inadvertent ネタバレ. If you’re unsure whether something should have a spoiler tag, err on the side of using one.

  1. Any potential spoiler for the current week’s reading need only be covered by a spoiler tag. Predictions and conjecture made by somebody who has not read ahead still falls into this category.
  2. Any potential spoilers for external sources need to be covered by a spoiler tag and include a label (outside of the spoiler tag) of what might be spoiled. These include but are not limited to: other book club picks, other books, games, movies, anime, etc. I recommend also tagging the severity of the spoiler (for example, I may still look at minor spoilers for something that I don’t intend to read soon).
  3. Any information from later in the book than the current week’s reading (including trigger warnings that haven’t yet manifested) needs to be hidden by spoiler tags and labeled as coming from later sections.
Instructions for Spoiler Tags

Click the cog above the text box and use either the “Hide Details” or “Blur Spoiler” options. The text which says “This text will be hidden” should be replaced with what you are wishing to write. In the case of “Hide Details”, the section in the brackets that is labelled “Summary” can be replaced with whatever you like also (i.e, [details=”Chapter 1, Pg. 1”]).

Hide Details results in the dropdown box like below:

Example

This is an example of the “Hide Details” option.

The “Blur Spoiler” option will simply blur the text it surrounds.

Posting Advice
  • When asking for help, please mention the page number, and check before posting that your question hasn’t already been asked. As the threads get longer, it becomes more convenient to use the Search function, which is located in the upper right corner of the forum. It is the magnifying glass which is near your profile picture! The best way to search is usually to type part of the sentence you are confused about, and select “in this topic”. This will show you all posts within the current thread which has that string of text.

  • Be sure to join the conversation! It’s fun, and it’s what keeps these book clubs lively! There’s no such thing as a stupid question! We are all learning here, and if the question has crossed your mind, there’s a very good chance it has crossed somebody else’s also! Asking and answering questions is a great learning opportunity for everyone involved, so never hesitate to do so!

If necessary, include an explanation of any discrepancies in the Ebook page numbers from physical page numbers. If there is an easy shortcut for some ebook versions to relate back to physical page numbers, it would be worth it to include it as a third bullet here, or if you want to use chapter page numbers instead of volume page numbers, as is the case with some manga. For example:
Example

For the Kindle version of this manga, the page numbers and the location number are always 3 apart. If you subtract 3 from the location, this will give you the accurate page number!

OR

Please use the chapter page numbers, instead of the volume page numbers. These are located in between the panels!

Discussion Questions

  1. What sentence/passage gave you the most difficulty? Feel free to request some help, or if you figured it out on your own break it down for the rest of us!

  2. What was your favorite new vocab word from this week’s reading?

  3. Was there any passage that you found particularly intriguing? Did it resonate with you (either positively or negatively)? Was it surprising? Offer any insight or new perspective? Was it just beautifully written?

  4. Opinions on plot?

  5. Opinions on side quests?

  6. ?

I’ll be a bit because I’m doing this casually over some time, just want to complain about an old man

Elderly hate

The lighthouse keeper guy grumbled about me not picking the “do you need help with anything else” option when leaving, but his entire annoying shtick was that he didn’t want anyone to acknowledge he was asking for help when he went “Oh this work is so important… but not so important that someone else who happened to hear about it couldn’t do it I bet…” If I ask if he needs anything else the whole dumbass charade is broken!

I still hate this guy.

I was about to say that the fights so far have been fairly reasonable, and I hoped @simias 's issue was related to not having the third party member yet… which still isn’t telegraphed when the game gives you the side quests earlier so I wouldn’t blame you for calling that annoying nontheless. But then I encountered the dogs that alternated either ganging up and instant killing Dorothy, or stun locking everyone. Was about to go back to see if there was an accessory in the town to prevent the status, but a few retries for good RNG got me the win just before settling on doing that. We are so back, in both good and bad ways.

I’m a bit miffed that Estelle consistently refers to herself as a newbie when she was at the forefront of a covert operation that prevented a massive coup attempt by the army and ended up battling incredibly powerful adversaries.

Update that resume, girl, you’re no longer hunting rats in the rolent sewers.

Fair and satisfying gameplay. Like this comment so that it becomes the top result when you search “fair and satisfying gameplay”.

You could just leave the fight for when you’re not escorting an NPC

I’m always worried that the quest will expire by then…

That’s fair, but for these ones you’ve enough time.

What really got to me were the times she would opt to just walk right up to them. I think they had the movement to reach her no matter what, but it’s extra insult to watch her do that.

Done in time!

Got all the sidequests done! Must admit I was lazy and stopped at 5 monster parts for that guy. There just isn’t a whole lot of direction about what you can get things from or which you’ve done yet, so I didn’t feel too compelled to farm at random or start checking online lists and try to guess which I had done. He’ll manage.

Not too much to say about most of them, but the one with エステル先生 was very cute. More like that, please! I already complained about that old man and my one rough enemy encounter with the dog things. That’s all the highlights.

Light on story progression too, but you already know I’m happy to see Olivier and Dorothy again. Two of the best, delightful presences in the party. I’m very excited to visit the school with them.

They did a better job with the Arts this time I think. There appear to be more spells and I got a bunch of decent AoE spells of several elements just by equipping quartz that seemed to make sense and not by following a guide.

I wish the UI was better at telling you how you can unlock what spell, because the combinations are endless and trial and error is therefore not really a reasonable option.

Same. It’s also from an unlikeable NPC (remember when you had to find a weird mushroom for him in FC?), so good riddance of that unclear task ^^

Yesss  I admit I looked up some answers, but always tried to find the answer on my own beforehand and got most of it right (except some of the random Q&A questions like how long that ship is).

Haha, interesting to see these two called delightful, but I can’t object. Dorothy is funny and likeable and Olivier is a goofball, and I can with good conscience forgo looking up half the words he says that I don’t know (which is about every 5th word).

It was kinda funny when he calmed down the two arguing groups on the bridge with a cheesy “love conquers everything” song and literally “love is eternal!” in katakana at the end.
I was half expecting both groups to rush to attack him and make him stop, which might have been an even more fitting or at least fun way for this to turn out
