I can’t find the answer to the 2nd side quest.
I opened that chest and survived with prefill the bar and a lot of heal (tea?).
I can’t recall what the 2nd quest is. What answer do you need?

I don’t see anything unusual on that road.
2nd quest
Oh I think it’s a big sort of plant-like monster with tentacles on the side of the main cobbled path. When you approach it instead of directly starting the fight it should prompt you asking if you want to engage or not.

I walked in that direction once, to see a closed gate (to another town?). I saw the wiggle, but ignored for later (didn’t even check or know it was the quest). But after catching the cats (?), I totally ignored that direction… (Should have enlarged and checked the minimap.)
Anyway, cleared. Luckily, LP was enough for that self-destruct.

The reading for 音 threw me off in the voice acting here:
It’s actually not おと, it’s ね. First time encountering this reading.

For the キノコ狩り quest… where the heck do I know where to go or where to find the オーヴィッド商会 (quest giver)? I’m sure none of you remember because it’s a long time ago for you, but I’m surprised nobody else had trouble knowing where to go, because it doesn’t seem to give any indications.

Played this during my recent 12 hour flight and progressed multiple weeks worth. The remake works beautifully on Steam Deck with HDR.
Spoilers & speculation
Happened to discover the (recently added?) first person camera view, and yeah… there’s been someone missing from the picture since the start of the game. ステラ (wife of エルガー) commented that エステル had grown up to look like her mother レナ.
Loved the low stakes quest at the farm. It seems like everyone is shipping these two already, but エステル isn’t quite on the same page.
Yeah, there are some 隠しごと alright. Can’t wait to learn more about his past in the near future…
I really liked this small window into the characters and how エステル didn’t stand for ヨシュアgetting all broody. Our main character might be a little oblivious, but she has her heart in the right place for sure.
Hopefully エステル won’t be too heartbroken when the time comes to dive deeper into ヨシュア’s past – I wouldn’t blame her for getting some trust issues with both ヨシュア and カシウス leading some sort of double lives hidden from her.
