I actually added 闘蛇 to my IME on my laptop so I could type it directly, but I don’t know how to do that on my iPhone. 
Typing たたかい (delete い) then へび is annoying.

Right click on the “A” or “あ” in the taskbar to the right, there’ll be an “Add Word” context menu item. This is the same for Microsoft and Google IMEs.

For two parts plus one page at the time of posting. You know, since that meant I was “reading along”.
I took ~20 min for the third part alone (hard to say exactly since I did spend an unknown amount of time on the forum in between).
That sounds close to my current reading speed? Although it’s probably more 1.5 min per page.
I have seen some crazy improvements since I started my 多読 thread last year

I’m getting thrown off by the negations here. Take 祖父のように、闘蛇を大公のために育てていたのではない for example. Is this saying that unlike the grandfather, the mother didn’t raise the 闘蛇 for the sake of the アルハン? And if she did feel that way (raising them for the sake of the アルハン) she probably wouldn’t have felt so negatively towards using the 音無し笛 and 特滋水?

I was bad this week and just finished reading so I missed the read-aloud. And there were so many readings I wanted to find out about too… 
The chapter was interesting. As someone already said, it doesn’t seem like having a whole school know is a great method for keeping secrets, but oh well. It seems it’s just a matter of how long it will take to leak at this point.

I just finished this part. Strangely the whole section with エサル explaining what happened to the teachers hooked me and I ended up staying up late reading most that in one go where I would usually start falling asleep after a couple of minutes.
I really liked how this section ended but I have a feeling that it might be one of エリン’s last nice scenes for a while…

- Does this mean “In the face of Esaru, who thought that it is a frightening person who has some hidden agenda, …”? I’m a bit confused because the current narrator is Erin, so how would she know for sure what Esaru is thinking?
- Who is this frightening person? We have not heard about other persons for some time at this point… The only person I could imagine here from the context is Aruhan??

Erin thought Esaru was a scary person with a hidden agenda. But in Esaru’s face in that instance Erin saw the looks of a mother on top of that. And that look was 不思議.
That’s a really loose translation and I skipped some aspects, but hopefully it helps.
