So from what I’ve gathered from people who’ve replied so far is that the best time is on Saturdays. If we have it at 10am PST, that would be 12pm CST and 8pm MEST @caraage I’m not sure how early you wake up but if we have it after 2pm, it would be after midnight @sakuchu’s time.
I’m personally an early riser so even an earlier time is okay with me.
The voice/chat channels haven’t been made yet. I’ll add the link to the first post when it is. Also, does 10am Saturday PST work for you?
We can start asking grammar questions once the week starts but only up to the chapter that we’re on. If you fall behind, you can ask questions for past chapters in the respective discussion thread. No need to wait for the read aloud session.
@valkow@KyokaJiro So far for the read-aloud session we have 10am Saturdays PST as the most optimal time. Is that time okay with you guys? We can still change it if need be.
I can reliably do Friday after 1pm, Saturday after 6pm, and Sunday after 1pm, all times PST. If a time works for everyone but me, I support you going with that time, but if it works out, that’d be cool too.
Alright peeps. I think it’d be easier to find a time for our read aloud session if we all just put our availabilities on a spreadsheet. Find the sheet with your username at the bottom and use the fill color tool to put your availability based on the key:
Green = reliably available
Yellow = sometimes available
Red = usually not available
Gray = other (please comment)
Also, put your timezone next to the daily schedule header. If you need help, lemme know~
Actually when I filled out the chart, I realised saturday evening PST would fit perfectly in my schedule.
PST and CET are 9hours difference, after the time changes at the start of April to CEST it’s a 10 hours difference.
So for example saturday 9pm would be CEST 7am on sunday, I usually get up early so I guess I don’t mind joining on 7am.
I apologize for going AWOL this week. Work has been overwhelming this week.
I filled the excel. I prefer not to do it on Friday because of work.
I can move things around on weekends as needed except for a few unavoidable things. I won’t be attending on March 20 and 27 as I am moving to a new place and traveling to visit family. I should be mostly available for all other sessions.
I have yet to order books. Ordering them today, hopefully they arrive in time
Oof our schedules do not match up at all x.x There’s no time where we can all make it so I’ll go by majority. I added a cumulative sheet on the spreadsheet that counts up how many people are available at each time slot. Any yellow/gray entries were added as a maybe. So far it looks like the best time is sometime between Saturday 8am-12pm PST. Still waiting on one person, though.
@NanaNanaNana Each character that appears in that week’s reading will be read by one person. If there’s more characters than people present, we’ll double up. You can ask any questions as we go along. Although I’ve never joined a read aloud session so I’m not 100% sure but I think this is what is usually done if someone can confirm
That sounds fun! 8am or 10 am PST still works the best for me, but maybe we could always have two read along sessions at different times or alternate times every other week so everyone could get a chance to read who wants to.
For read alouds I’ve done, usually each person picks a character. If there’s more characters than people present, we do as beari said. If there’s more people than characters present, than we usually split the characters that speak the most into smaller halves (so like, maybe splitting Yona into two parts) When read alouds start, I can make a character sign-up sheet like the one I use in the Haikyuu read-aloud
That sounds great! I think we have four characters in the first 30 pages but Yona could definitely be split up if more people join. Very excited for this.
Everyone sent in their availability and the result is Saturday 8am-930am PST! Sorry if that's a bit early for some people. It's the slot with the most greens.
@NanaNanaNana I think one session is okay for now. We can always adjust. Like if one week everyone’s busy at the usual time we can set a different time for that week only.
