This is the only place I can think to ask. So there are two tests ( the 語検 which seems to be the sister test of the 漢検, and the J-test), with very similar names. I’m interested in both, but the ways they are administered seems different and the content seems a little different. Is anyone savvy about both of these tests to speak of their differences and similarities?

The Nihongo Kentei is meant for natives.
The J-Test is for non-natives and is similar in scope to the JLPT, except that when you take it, rather than taking a specific level and passing or failing, you are given a certificate based on how many points you get.
I’ve taken the J-Test 3 times and my best score was about 730 I think. Roughly N1 level.
I would like to try to take level 3 or so of the Nihongo Kentei this year. Just to see what I could do.
