I just read chapter 48 (second to last in volume 6) and there was so much I didn’t understand. I got the gist of course, but I missed so many details. It jumped around a lot more than other recent chapters and there was a ton more colloquial language than usual. I’m going to finish the volume when I get a chance, but I’ll almost certainly reread the chapter and ask questions then.
No one else has posted in a while either. How’s the series coming along for everyone?

Well, I decided in the end to just return the second half without reading them. I’m waiting for you to catch up actually 
Maybe I should borrow them all next time and re-read some of the former books, though 
Obviously I haven’t started yet since I just mentioned buying the books in the other thread, but I just wanted to say that after I get done with finals mid-May I’m going to have more time on my hands, so I’ll be joining you in reading 放浪息子. I don’t know if I’ll catch up when you’re 6 books in already though. 
I’m not reading anything but things may finally stabilize soon.

Seriously though, it depends on how fast you read. I’m relatively slow (especially when reading other stuff like now), so I don’t expect to finish the series for several more months.
It depends on how many book club books I’m reading. 
I think I got stuck in the last chapter of volume 3 and then I had a week of holidays so first I have to catch up with real life, then with キノ and finals are coming up… It might be a while 
I finally finished volume 6. The last chapter was soooo good! I can’t even remember how many times I laughed out loud. Highlights were definitely Shuu and Takatsuki reacting to Yuki-san dressed as a guy. and Chii-chan declaring her love for Maiko. 
I finished volume 1 today and started in on volume 2! I watched the 放浪息子 anime several years ago and I vaguely remember what happened in that, but this manga is really reminding me of why I liked the anime.
On a comprehension note, I spent way too long trying to figure out what ダスキン was… I really should have googled first before searching through all my dictionaries.
Same! It was really weird when I got to volume 5 (where the anime starts) and I suddenly read a scene that I remembered from the anime.
I remember doing the same thing. 
I have now read the second volume!
I was going to say something about it, just give some thoughts/impressions or something… but I can’t actually think of anything to write(or at least not any good way to write anything), so I’ll just settle for saying that I did read it.

I think I’ll try to read a book first(was initially planning on reading 佐伯沙弥香について, but I can’t remember where I put it so I may go with something else instead), but then I’ll probably continue with the third volume. I may start reading it in the meantime too, depending on how long whatever book I pick takes to read/how much I feel like reading something else for a few minutes.
and by the way, unrelated to anything actually relevant to this topic, since you mentioned that you were planning to read やがて君になるafter it finishes, it seems appropriate to mention that the next volume apparently will be the last one, so the manga will end sometime around November this year

I bought this series in the half-off golden week sale, so I would be interested in reading it too.
I also finished volumes 2 and 3 of 放浪息子 and started volume 4. The author does a pretty good job of portraying how kids are such jerks sometimes. I can totally imagine some boys stealing and running around with a pad to make a girl feel bad.
You’re totally gonna finish the series before me.
It’s such a good series! I was reading it instead of catching up on 銭天堂 like I said I would.
