I’ve read around 40 pages for the lolz, but then realized that I needed to takes notes of important vocab to add to the deck and stopped xD
In the last 15 minutes, I had no internet connection… so if this continues… I guess I’m finishing it today

Nope! If our informal attempt to restart this club ends up deciding to continue after volume one (I hope it will!), maybe we can make an offshoot thread for it where we can organize things/write up a proper schedule for it? (With it currently being one chapter every two weeks.) …Also because the series is pretty long and I’m mindful of how this thread closes after three years LOL

I would be down to continue since I already have vol 2 and most BOOKOFFs have cheap vols available!
We should be able to just ask the mods to keep the thread open unless they plan to shut down the forum. It is a bit strange though because I thought all book clubs were automatically open for 10 years from the last post

Nice!! I’d also definitely pick up the next volume whenever. I love this series.
I’m newer to the forum and I’ve only just been joining book clubs for the first time. You would definitely know how this works more than I would!! So I wanted to ask: is it normal for off-shoots to have separate threads? Since I felt like I kept seeing that. I know I was mostly thinking about it because I thought it would be easier to organize (especially having a central post that we can edit for it to keep tabs of new threads associated with it!)

I used to think that too but it turns out the threads start as 10 years from the first post, and then after 10 years it defaults to the standard 1 year since last post. But you can flag it and the mods will reopen it if needed
Yes, and maybe now that we have so much interest an offshoot to organise us is a good idea! It can still link to the original threads for vol 1

I think either this thread or a separate thread would be fine.
MissMisc visits once in a blue moon, so I don’t think it’s inconceivable that we might get her blessing to edit the home post. Most offshoots typically do a thread per volume

Ooh, yeah, that works! Plus it sounds like that would be useful to point people towards since it seems like we have a handful of people interested in joining us.
Maybe I can work on making a home post for that if people are okay with it?

Would you be willing to host the volume threads too? It’s a bit easier to have whoever hosts the home thread also host the volume threads so that the links can be easily updated
