These two vocab words both have the reading of おさめる but for some reason, the former, level 25, uses old saw (おさ), whereas the latter, level 33, uses Osama (おさ) bin Laden.
I’m totally cool with the latter mnemonic, and it’s quite funny, but why does it switch?
All of the mnemonics on WK are written by staff, but not necessarily the same staff, so it’s likely that two different people wrote the mnemonics for each word. I’m with you though, Osama is definitely easier to remember
I use my own mnemonic for it: ossan (おっさん). It’s not the same exact sound by it gets me close enough. I imagine an ossan storing his hard earned cash for 収める, and 納める is just and alternative kanji for the same word indicting a different nuance, I don’t need a separate mnemonic.
