Yasaka High School [八坂高校], also known as Pachikō (パチコー), is widely revered as the best school in the city. … Koichi Shindou got held back a grade due to his attendance.
My guess is that because 八…高 can be read as パチコー, they call it that even though it’s actually read as Yasaka, not Hachisaka.
I had to google パチコー too, though I at least went for Japanese search results rather than the Fandom wiki.
When you pick out kanji to form abbreviations, you often don’t preserve the readings of the kanji. For example, the “Keihin” in “Keihin-Tohoku Line” (in Tokyo) is formed by combining the “kyo” from “Tokyo” with the “hama” from “Yokohama”.
Is this chapter only about 9 pages? I have it finishing on p140 Bookwalker. The start of p20 seems a bit longer than others but I think it looks like a new chapter there.
In fact, it’s only exactly nine pages. Ten with the title page.
Though the previous chapter was a bit shorter than usual also, and it’s essentially a direct prequel - the two together are just about the length of a regular chapter.
I don’t think there was any buttoning up of the shirt, just pulling it back down to cover her exposed belly and given they are familiar enough for him to be there while she’s asleep it doesn’t seem that weird to me.
It is for me too. Apparently for Miyamura it’s not as long as she won’t catch cold. Would say +1 for creativity, it’s not the usual “cover you with blanket or cloth” trope
Oops, missed the start of this! I’ll try to catch up over the next week or so… I need to follow this book club to hold myself accountable to reading consistently!
