OMG, I bought my mom a similar magnifying glass for Christmas. Now I’m wondering if I can get away with opening it and using it, then re-wrapping it for Christmas. I might have to buy myself one if my mom’s works for me.
Yeah I would agree, I would like amazing resolution but it’s just down to the format of it I guess.
It just means you have to know your kanji so you don’t need furigana
I agree with @Wp2151 I would love the text in manga to be selectable for dictionary look up on kindle, it would make reading manga so much quicker.
The quality really does vary. I got both this and the One Punch Man manga from BookWalker and the OPM scan is better.
It’s also on animelon (https://animelon.com/) - which lets you have Japanese subs (kanji or kana) or english or even both at the same time. I’ve found that pretty useful since the manga is so close to the anime.
Oh, nice! I was wishing Netflix had Japanese subs. I’ll be sure to check out Animelon instead. Thank you so much for the heads-up!
There’s subs on the Japanese netflix if you use a VPN.
Yeah, I did look into that a bit, but I’m a bit intimidated by choosing a VPN, as I heard Netflix has learned how to detect a lot of them. Do you know a good VPN which currently work on Netflix JP?
I’m currently using windscribe. You can build a custom plan to only pay for the windflix japan which is $2 per month.
VPN gate might be worth it
Thank you - those both look like good options! I like the idea of being able to build a plan with Windscribe, since I would really only want it for Netflix.
I’ve been watching anime with Japanese subs on Netflix without a VPN o: I live in Europe, so maybe its to compensate for our generally smaller selection of good shows?? XD
I would’ve loved to join, but I’m not able to buy the book!
Have fun reading!
You can also upload custom subtitles to Netflix if a show doesn’t have the ones you want. There are even a couple of browser extensions that let you add several subtitles at once.
(Though honestly, a VPN is probably the easier option. + has the benefit of a bigger catalog)
Do we have the week 2 thread up yet?
week 2 is upon us. last week before the break
happy?
Thank you so much! <3 <3 <3
Looks like the first five Haikyuu volumes are currently free for a limited amount of time on amazon and some other retailers.
(I’m not sure how the whole limited time thing works, does that mean the book will disappear from your library once the trial period is over? Or do you actually get to keep it?)
I’m assuming most people here already have the book since we already started, but maybe if someone wants to join in late they can make use of it
For the limited ones like this they will become unreadable when the time period ends.
Week 3 is up!
