ダンジョン飯 🍽 volume 4

Chapter 24

Really nice writing / drawing in this chapter, you can really feel the tension all the time.

Hmm what kind of humans are we talking about here? I would have said 10km/hour, max 20km/hour

So intense. To be continued!

Well, Usain Bolt’s top speed is about 45km/hr, at least for 100m…

Ah right. I was thinking more a speed that you could hold for an hour.

Ok but what about Usain Bolt in plate armour running over cobblestone?

The marathon record is just over 2h, so 20km/h sustained over an hour is very much athlete level.

You know, I can’t seem to find any data on that. Might have to call him and ask him to perform some experiments to rectify that.

Yes that’s why I would have thought that’s the upper limit. But didn’t think about running shorter distances

With or without a red dragon chasing him?

No food inspiration for these chapters so I’m just going to post a random maymay I found online and that I don’t understand:

Loving those dragon chapters, so intense.

Chapter 25

Thought it was about to lie down on them here and just crush them

Nice chapter, smart move in the end. Looking forward to seeing what’s next!

Maybe we should also move this club to two chapters/week because these cliffhangers are killing me!

I’ve been thinking about it for a few weeks but didn’t dare bring it up! I would be up for that.

i hate to be all ‘guy who’s read this before’ but: hehehehehehe

We could just finish the volume next week :eyes:

The thing is that these dragons chapter are particularly action-packed and don’t contain much text, which really makes them zoom by quickly. Meanwhile I found that the first chapter of this volume, with all the above-ground politics, was vastly more painful to go through. I think the usual chapters from previous volumes were somewhat in between.

So basically I worry that the current chapters are not really representative of the rest of the manga and we’ll end up with a significantly higher load than expected. And given the number of book clubs I’m in, that worries be a bit :grimacing:

With that in mind:

  • Keep the one chapter/week pace as usual.
  • Have a one time exception to finish the current volume next week (chapter 26, 27, 28+omake) and take a one week break after that. We’ll reassess the pace later.
  • Double the pace to 2 chapters/week from now on.

Ok let’s finish this volume this week then!

I should have posted the poll earlier but if some people lag behind and don’t want to speed up yet we can always opt to have a two week break after that which will maintain the overall pace.

I’ll make the proper post tomorrow.

There’s a typo on page 120, at least on the BookWalker edition:

120

助骨 is not a word, but 肋骨 is.

A common typo apparently: http://www.kameari-kumasan.com/blog_detail?actual_object_id=389

Took me a while to see the difference  thanks!

It took me a while to understand what went on here because I tried looking for 助骨 and found nothing, but when I wrote my guessed reading of じょこつ then 鋤骨 would pop up in the dictionary which means “vomer (a bone of the skull)” and uses 助 as phonetic component so it seemed promising but in context in the manga it was pretty obvious that they were not anywhere near the head…

Should’ve used KanKan!
