I just realized that there’s another example of these “ryakuji” in your picture, the 門 of 新聞 that’s written like number 2 here:
Oddly enough I managed to read this one correctly first try without noticing that the 門 part was completely mangled. The 魔 character I think I read like 広 which is obviously incorrect and makes no sense here.
I guess we’ll have to keep an eye for these shorthands in the handwritten text of this manga…

Ah, this image is great! And so is the wikipedia article. Thanks! I already knew 門 (I think it’s pretty common) but the others I haven’t encountered before that I’m aware of.

Interestingly, it doesn’t actually fit the wikipedia 略字 list
It is written 新門 （門 instead of 聞)
But 2 in the list is providing a 略字 for 門 - ie 门

And wikipedia does mention these “derived characters” which follow the same pattern, using 間 as an example

Yeah, for that particular example, Wikipedia’s just depicting the general radical form - the same ryakuji can be used regardless of what’s inside it. The 間 version showed up in Yotsuba back in volume two or three.
Actually, now I’m wondering if there’s anything which appears inside a 門 radical which also has its own ryakuji form…

If you look at #11 in the image I linked, you have a simplified form for the inside of 闘 with 斗. So I suppose technically this is possible:

I was really surprised how chill they all were, when the sister literally got eaten alive 
But then they talked about the revival and I remembered how the setting is similar to DnD and other TTRPGs. That was the one thing I knew about the series beforehand, but it still caught me off guard

It reminded me of a dnd session I had, where we kept on putting corpses of NPCs into our bag of holding to revive them/give them funerals. And we discussed how much of them we need to bring etc

I learnt this week that the English title “Delicious in Dungeon” is a deliberate reference to DnD. I thought it was just regular old imperfect English.
