飛びっぷり : “way, manner to fly” (see magg sensei
や+さかい : Kansai ben for だ+から
With the first part of the sentence あんまり みごとな, you get “because it was such en splendid way of flying”

Keeping up at a steady two weeks behind (at least the backlog isn’t getting bigger…)
After several weeks of exposure I’m starting to be able to read around the Kansai-ben a bit better, so calling that a victory. I have been watching subtitled 水曜日のダウンタウン / Wednesday Downtown for years, and reading through this manga has made me realize how often I am actually hearing Kansai-ben from the Yoshimoto comedians. It’s funny how sometimes you don’t hear certain things in Japanese until you have repeated exposure through reading, and then suddenly a new part of your hearing unlocks.

I’m finally getting caught up again, just finished up chapter 7! I managed to find a physical copy while I was in Japan and am having a lot of fun reading it in the physical format! This week was pretty smooth for me I think and I’m enjoying getting some more information about the cards. It was cute when Toya was protecting Sakura when the bird came back, even if he insulted her afterwards lol, such a good sibling dynamic between them.
