Page 102, Kessoku Band’s opening act “yobai” appear to take their name from the word 夜這い, which means “creeping at night into a woman’s bedroom; stealing into a girl’s bedroom at night to make love”. The relevance of that to the chapter, though, I haven’t the foggiest idea.
For page 111 and subsequent, the dialogue has already made it clear, but this chapter takes place at Enoshima. We’ve been here before, back in their first summer together. Page 114, second panel, ビラボード and グラマー reference the Billboard and Grammy music awards, while ビヨンボ is presumably Beyoncé.
Sixth panel, they’re watching the sunrise from Katase Higashihama, and in the final panel, oshikuramanjuu is a pushing game which looks like this:
And that ends another volume.
How do we feel about taking an extended break before we start the next volume. Like, say, … until the start of December? It’s just that I’m heading off to visit Japan in three weeks (hooray!) and likely I won’t have time to read the chapters or write these posts while I’m away.
(Downside, by that point, volume eight will have been released, so we’ll still be a volume behind. Unfortunately, it’s coming out three days too late for me to pick up a copy while I’m there.)
